57 BCR Allis Chalmers orange is known as Persian Orange and is fairly dark. Very close to the J I Case Flambeau Red. Omaha Orange is a bright Orange, used on a lot of Municipal (town,county,state) Trucks Brocky

Ron The typing is the hard part.. Our ATHS chapter is attempting to make me a writer out of a dumb butt truck driver!! A lot of it is the same ole BS, you just have to put it in print. All you need is a computer that will type as you talk to it, then sit back and tell your stories. With the picture to go with the story in your hand it would be easy to tell the story. Brocky

The article on Allis Chalmers engines was in the Nov/Dec 2010 issue of the ATHS Wheels of Time. If you are an ATHS member you can go to the home page top right enter your member number and acess the issue. Brocky

The whole story is NOT known. During the late 40's thru the mid 50's the design engineering departments at DT and IH had a very close working arrangement. The people in the know have since passed away, but it assumed that they worked togather in the design of the conventional "Comfovision" cab which was stamped by the Chicago Cab Co and assembled in the individual plants. The DT 22 series spring loaded counterbalanced manual tilt LCF cab, which IH used as the VCO cab, was designed by the Murty Bros of Portland OR under contract to Mr. Tilt of DT. IH used the DT plant in Chcicago to build heavy duty, special order, R model IH trucks which would have tied up the regular production line in Fort Wayne. IH also used DT to build prototypes as industrial esponage mis-information. The nickname Emeryville came from these trucks first being built at the IH Emeryville CA plant. Brocky

Here is another of the prototypes using the LCF Diamond T 22 series cab set up and to the back. It has Diamond T badges and the picture is taken at the DT factory in Chicago. After about 5 pages of discussion on the ATHS What am I forum in 2009 it was finally decided that it went on to become the Emeryville.

Bullhusk Did the Richard Dahn outfit also have some pnuematic tanks pulling cement out of Northampton,Nazereth, Bath PA area? Seems I remember them back in the 70's-80's? Brocky

Mark I am glad to see Campbells is still in business. 20-25 years ago when I drove for Oliver Trucking pulling Records out of CBS in Pitman we used them as a cartage agent. Very nice people to deal with, Some of the family lived on the same street as the terminal and with a phone call you could load/unload 24/7. Brocky

Since the Werner trucking family also owns the Werner Ladder Company it is hard to tell if there is a connection.

As Bullhusk has said the Superliner was designed by Brockway for introduction in '78, BUT Mack never let Brockway get that far and kept the design to make into the Superliner. Somewhere on the Brockway site discussion board and/or Huskidrive.com is a topic with several pictures taken in the Brockway shop during its development. Brocky

I believe this whole problem started in the mid 60's with Dr Spock and the other child psycoligists who said we wered only supposed to 'Talk" to children not discipline them. The first word a child learns (or at least should) at age 6 month is the word NO!! He forgot that the slap on the back of the hand or across the bottom was required to get their attention first and to re-enforce the words. 50 years later, with each generation becoming increasingly lax, along with the loss of religious guidence and increasingly wierd sh*t in all areas of the media we now have people who have NO RESPECT for themselves, parents, other people,or authority. The pendulum of child abuse has swung all together too far liberal from what it was 100 years ago and now society is paying the price. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims familys and the responders who had to deal with the situtation. Brocky

Mike My only thought is to contact George Tackaberry in Athens Ont, addy should be listed in an ATHS roster, as he has bought trucks from the states and probably sold some back into the states. He regelarly brings truck to stateside shows so he must know most of the regulations and/or who to contact for the "official" version. Brocky
