  7. The cowcatcher grille guard may have been an extra cost option, but I think Ron might be right, If you bought a grille guard it came with the letters on it..
  8. The letters on the Brockway cowcatchers were very common. Almost think they were a factory option.. I know Ithacs Delivery had ID on theirs. There was some discussion about this on the Brockway site a while back and Tom Millard had looked into some one reproducing them. Maybe Joe D. can help shed some light on the subject..
  9. Tom How old is the Google picture???? The white truck in the right rear might be a DT or DR???
  10. Ken Sterling Hornoi of Regina Sask CA has one mounted on the back of a 1949 REO flatbed which he brings to a lot of the ATHS National shows and fires up. Probably will be at York?? I think that video Tom just posted may be Sterling's engine.
  11. Tiger Here is a link to a few pictures of the one Chad is building for his Brockway.. Steel frame with wood floor. http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4737
  12. When I first got a radio in the 70's I stood 6 ft 4 in tall and weighed about 180 lb. One of the mechanics gave me "Broomstick" After another 50 lbs of beer "Dun Lop" over the belt buckle and a job change I became just Brocky. For the last 10-15 years have only used the radio in bad weather conditions.
  13. Mackdaddy I am sorry, I did not take any pictures of it.. Ivan Hosted the Heart of Dixie chapter show at his garage. He had it parked inside with all the front sheet metal and radiator off, the big old V-12 out in the open for everyone to see. He was doing body work on the back of the cab. and the door still said Taunton and Galt CA in mailbox stick on letters. Ivan's email addy is: dixielandtoys@bellsouth.net if they want to contact him.. maybe he has some progress pictures?
  14. Like Mike said, LUCAS oil stabilizer.. I run it in everything including the lawn mower.
  15. Ivan Taunton of Snead AL has one in his shop right now in the process of restoration.
  16. To expand on what Joe D said. AT built the Browns, but I believe that one of the Brown engineers came from Corbitt and a few of the the first Browns may have been rebuilt rebuilt Corbitts, thus the close look alike. Here is a Brown and a Corbitt side by side
  17. Mike Thanks for the pictures.. Am planning on stopping there again when ATHS is in Des Moines. 2017 Joe D. I stopped there on the way to Yakima. If I remember correctly the Brockway was one of the first trucks Father Bill Moon bought and/or restored.
  18. We are wishing you the best of luck in obtaining the position you want.. Sound like you are heading in the right direction.. Maybe the Macks will come along in time..

  23. Paul Got the cure for that: Open the door stark naked, with a 12 gauge shot gun in hand, and loudly ask "What in hell do you want???"" All you see are a$$holes and elbows going out the driveway!!
  24. Ken I thought it was just the Mennonites who used the steel wheel tractors and some rubber(?) while the Amish used horses/mules to pull they could use a pony motor on a sulky to provide PTO power??? Or does it vary with which faction of the church they or in.
