    Newbies???

I agree with all of the above.. just another way to get attention when your personality does NOT deserve it..
  2. I have been a member of both, ATHS & ATCA for the last 20 years. About the only reason I stay with ATHS is because I am an officer in our local chapter, Palmetto Upstate. Our chapter is active on the local level by piggy backing our shows on local Farm Days shows which is a win-win situation for both of us, they take care of all the presenting work and our trucks help with advertising which helps draw their spectator crowd to support their charitable donations.

I have been to about 10 ATHS national shows in the last 20 years I have been a member including both Yakima WA and Reno NV. Both Baltimore and Reno were clusterf##ks!!!! Not enough Room!!! And everything hemmed in by portable fencing.. Reno was definitely NOT old fart friendly as you had to walk too far to get to the trucks or even your golf cart and the indoor displays were spread out in several rooms on two different floors!!! The west coast shows have always gone for a high dollar venue.. Look at Fontana Speedway in 2004!!! I agree with the ATHS East coast shows being better, BUT BUT ATCA Macungie is still the best overall show!!!!!!!
  4. Dan, That was a political maneuver by a past Exec Director!!!! And Eddy replaced it with JOT..
  5. Another site that has bit the dust:: Brockway Trucks.com

Volvo made rainbow colored whatever would fit right in with their "WOKE" attitude!!!!!
  9. Paul states: Slim and Joy lived a very different life I would imagine to any country singer from the States as Australia is very different as Brocky would know.. Paul, Actually in the post war years up thru the 80's the majority of the American Country and Western artists had busses which carried the artist and their band to bars/pubs, State and County fairs, and radio station sponsored events. They would just pull up unload, perform for a couple of hours, get back on the bus and head for their next stop.
  10. I hope this works?? This link should take you to Waltzing Matilda, the unofficial Australian National Anthem. You must click on "Watch on You Tube" in the bottom left corner to get a listing of 88 Slim Dusty songs on the right side of the screen. If you click on the red arrow in the middle you only get this song. Some are videos, some are a slide show, and some just show the album cover. Sometimes I can search for a individual song and get a video that was not in another listing. Once in a while I get a message that this song is not available in our country, just go to the next song and then they all play.. Enjoy his music. The majority of his recordings sound a lot like Tom T Hall with a lot of Australian history and folklore. Click on the bottom left bar of Paul's first post "Light on the Hill" and go to the listing on the right. When you then select the song "We Have Done us Proud" It is an excellent video and the song also applies to the United States as well as Australia!!!
  11. Paul It looks like You are having trouble with copyright laws not allowing you to post an Aussie video on an American website..Give me a while and I will try to fill in the gap..
  12. For most of us Statesiders, Joy McKean was wife of Australia's best country singer, Slim Dusty. The pair cowrote many of Slim's greatest hits.. I believe she wrote "The Lights on the Hill" which Paul posted above. Slim Dusty recorded 104 albums during his lifetime which ended in 2003. If you search You Tube for Slim Dusty you can find about 500 of his works. Joy Has lasted another 20 years. Paul how old was she??
  13. About the same schedule I had over the years.. Spent maybe half dozen weekends on the road, except for about 9 months when I had Thursdays off and loaded out of North Jersey for Atlanta on Friday and about 1/3 of the time I had a load in west GA waiting for me to be back north on Monday AM
  14. Thank You for the update on display trucks.. Dick Callaway's father was part of the Autocar dealership in Greensboro way back when,, This is where he got the truck bug to write about them..
  15. How many trucks do they have inside on permanent display??? Last Fall I talked with Dick Callaway, ATHS WOT author from NC, and he said they were in the process of selecting some..
  16. Thanks Bob!! Fighting with sugar created ulcers and abscesses..

  19. Damn!!! Those are really long poles!! Especially on a single axle truck..
  20. And eat, sleep and have clothes on their backs!!!! I would not be surprised if it is Soros money!!!
  21. Vlad, Thanks for the scenic travel log!!!! It is great to see the other parts of the world I will never see otherwise.. What is the reason for the long delays at customs / border crossings???? Did you get held up with the Bike or with a car???? With the number of smaller countries in the area it must take months to travel any distance?????
  22. There were a lot of the RM(???) single axle dump trucks configured as 4X4 with snow plows in the northeast, especially in the "Lake Effect" snow areas of upstate NY..
  23. Probably a week early.. have just see a bunch of Mothers Day sales in the ads mixed with the news on the TV😨
  24. Thanks everybody!! Had a quiet time at home with the wife.. since it was Mothers Day as well we will go out to eat some other night..
  25. Definitely save that push button turn signal switch!!!! There are not many of them left for original restorations..
