    KS, you are correct to a point.. If you do not put in the amount the company matches you are taking a pay cut.. BUT beyond that amount IF you have a decent personal financial manager you can often grow better outside a 401.. IF you can force yourself to make that contribution into another account rather than it being taken out before you see it?? Quite often we are all guilty of spending the money instead of saving it..

    Joey, You must have a 401 account with the county??? Put in at least the percentage they match.. We put in a higher percentage at times between truck payments.. and actually we only had the 401 and company retirement for less than 15 years.. We are not rich, But comfortable.. and so far just the company retirement and Social Security more than covers our monthly expenses without touching the IRA..

    We put our 401's into IRA's with Wells Fargo Advisers in late 2011. I paid off the last $24k on the house, paid about 1/3 of our Alaska trip, paid over 1/2 of our Australian trip, bought the 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 plus the required by law distributions out of the fund and we still have more in it that what we put in.

    Bob, Depending on what brokerage house is handling your IRA, quit worrying about it on a daily basis.. You will get an ulcer!!!!

    Paul, Thanks for the clarification.. I had forgot you folks have a lot of "Cross Channel" traffic. Who is left with RHD??? South Africa, India and Japan????

    I like your idea of upgrading the pintle hitch area.. Will you need to add air glad hands?? You will probably have to attach your light bar / mud flap hangers to the end of the frame.. That Goose neck ball looks a little far back for good weight distribution???

    I just noticed in your update pictures that this truck is Left Hand Drive.. Is Ireland that much different from England??? If not, will you have legal problems operating a LHD vehicle??? I think Australia has some rules about having to change it to RHD or sum such BS???? Maybe Mrs Mack Paul can correct me!!!

    Running unregistered vehicles on the street reminds me of the ATHS National Show in Colorado Springs CO...The host hotel, and meetings, was about 2 blocks from the Arena where the show was held and some of the restaurants were in a strip mall across the street from the hotel.. Golf Carts EVERYWHERE!!!!! I guess the the Police Dept decided it was not worth trying to corral 1000 retired truck drivers on rental golf carts!!!

    Geoff, I think(??) I understand that the Constitution was written to protect the rights of people who are American Citizens.. BUT< BUT how does someone who ILLEGALLY entered this country have any rights??????? It seems that there are a group of politicians in our Congress that DO NOT believe in the Constitution and at the very least be voted out of office. I guess that the voting Americans and the courts will eventually decide.. I HOPE!!!!!

    I am unable to understand the Demonacrats fighting to keep them here.. The ones who have gone to Salvador to bring them back should be charged with Treason!!! and made to pay back the taxpayer dollars then used to get there....

    I have slowed down to 2 or 3 beers before/during supper.. I never did do much of the "Hi Test" stuff!!!!

    In about 1970 I had a negative ground AM radio out of something mounted in a wooden box that I could tarp strap to the tool box, in place of a passenger seat, in one of Matlack's positive ground R models.

    He must be a "Youngin" as air starters have been around a long time!!!! I remember in the mid 60's while collage a B Model parked at the library loading dock, with a lot of foot traffic around it, hit his air starter. I think the echo of girls screaming was even louder!!!

    I respect the right that everyone has their views, But I hope that the administrators are keeping an eye on user "Truckcrazy" as the user is starting to sound like "Teamster Giirrrlll", or whatever many user names she used, who used to create so many negative arguments.
