This brochure dates to the late 1940s, but the first Cummins-powered Autocar was built in the mid-1930s, even before the #AutocarDC. Back in 1941 the Town of Pomfret, New York was proud to show off their new Autocar C8044 (four-wheel-drive) truck with optional "Tropicaire" heater. I am not a fire guy but will speculate that is a quick disconnect for the vehicle exhaust extraction hose which is connected to the truck while it is inside the firehouse. 1 Quote JimIt doesn't cost anything to pay attention. Fast-forward to 1964 when this #AutocarDC came into service to be driven by the founder's grandson, 3rd generation driver, Jimmy Yannuzzi. And guess what they did next? You guessed it: Bought more Autocar trucks. Like this 1965 ten-wheel dump that Jimmy's dad, Carmen, drove. The Yannuzzi fleet topped out at 15 trucks, mostly Autocar.
