  1. Here's what I have.
  2. Great story.Makes me think of the way I came about a Caterpillar 15 Autopatrol.I always wanted one ever since i saw one at a show.Since they are very very rare I never throught I would ever find one.
  3. I am in the process of rewiring my B87.I need a little help with hooking up the serial parallel switch.I have the 4 cables to the starter and the batteries hooked up.the problem i am having is with the 3 smaller terminals.I'm hoping one of you may have a better diagram. Thanks for any help.
  4. My dad had acouple of them the last one saved his life. Was in a very nasty car wreck.Wasn't his fault he was t bone. The insurance company told the body shop to stop the set. at $68000.The thing I liked about them were you could cruise at 100 and never know it.Youyr car looks great.
  5. Can you post a picture of the spring you made for the drag link.Thanks.
  6. I see our company old B87 tractor in the back ground.I often thought about maybe buying it back. Then I would have a pair of them.
  7. Toy.I tell my friends about what I'm thinking and they look at me like I have 2 heads.
  8. I am just thinking here, while i was rewiring the B87 today.I should have it up running this week.I am thinking of building of building a pickup truck using either a single axle B model or a E model.I am thinking of keeping it pretty much original.I would like to have it as a daily driver. Was thinking to help with fuel mileage I would leave out the inner tire on the rears. Was also thinking of using a transplant from either a Dodge or a Ford with a smaller diesel and a auto.Don't know much about the E models.Lets hear some comments,I'm all ears.
  9. You're doing a great job, keep it up.Doing all the mechanics first is the only way to go.That the first thing i do when i start a rest job on a old caterpillar tractor.Once you get it running just the way you want you can take your time on the cosmo of the truck.Love seeing your pictures.
  10. Damm,I'ld have to mortgage the farm to take my 8 axle lowboy over. What would it cost to take an oversize, weight load?
  11. I'ld be interested in the Mack emblem on the top radiator tank.I will look over my B87 that I'm doing and see what else I need.
  12. I'm still working on the wiring, been working a lot at work at the job that was suppose to be 2-3 days a week.I just want to get the truck wired up to start it and move it around.
  13. I will try and see if I can get Novus#2,will let you know how I make out.I'm alittle old school I like to reuse the parts that come off these old girls rather then buy new.
  14. You may have some rust holding it fast. Also check that theres not a spot weld holding it.I didn't remove mine but I can check on MOnday and let you know what's mine is hold in by.I see your from OHio are you going to have the cab dipped. The reason I ask is I think there is a company in Ohio that does that.Your cab looks to be in great shape.
  15. It's not the best picture but you tell the difference between a before and after. After I cleanup the bezel with asome emery paper I used some silver paint on it.I am thinking about cutting a peice of plexie glass and make new lenses.Let me hear some comments.Good bad or otherwise.
  16. To uncrip the bezel I used a small screwdriver and just peeled the criped edge back. Will post a pic later.
  17. I have taken to trying to take my original gauges apart. The bezels weren't that bad to undo.I had to do this to cleanup the faces of the gauges. Will post some pics when I'm done.
  18. That is just how i removed the cab off my B87.Using a 4x4 through the open doors and used my chain hoist.Double check even triple check that you have everything removed, disconnected from the dash.Tack cable, speedo cable, oil pressure line, air line, shutoff cable.Good Luck.
  19. Joey, you should ABC construction, they are located in Bensalem. You would want to talk to Mike Nuggent he is the owner.Good luck
  20. I know of this company that has these trucks.Family owned has been around a long time.Always see the trucks around town.If I not mistaken they are kept in the shed. Our own company was the benchmark when it came to maintaining our equipment,we were doing cat certified rebuild long before cat started.I guess that why when we decided to get out, our 35 year old D9 tractors were one of the first to go..The point I m trying to make is that this company has a excellent reputation for maintaining their equipment.
  21. I take the R model out quite a bit in the better weather.I've even taken it to the supermarket for a few things, ams out one time and a fellow was taking all sorts of pic of it.
  22. MackMhe9,did you pick that B81 up in Philly? If you did what did you think of the B87,Rmodel,56ford in the shop?We owned the b87 since new and the r model we got in 79 that only has 73,000 miles on it,the 56 ford i brought back from Montana.
  23. I have had my eyes open for new ones, but have had no luck.Think I'm just going to put the old ones back in and if I come across new or better then i have will replace them.
  24. I have a question for you fellows that have alot more knowledge then I.Can the chrome rings on the gauges of the B models be removed to be rechrome? Thanks Mike
  25. Thanks for all the help.It not that all that bad once you get started.Doing one wire at a time.I redid my 56 Ford f600 for starters.
