hicrop10 replied to Mack_man's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I have had my B87 tractor painted. The frame I had a local tow company do it an they did a great job,but I had sandblast it first. Then the cab and fenders and so worth I had Mickey Delia from Frenchtown NJ do that and again fabulous job.I had sandblasted the cab my self. All in I’m going to say without including my time I have $25,000 in it.Hersome pictures of it. -

Finally got it to crank over. That series parallel switch gave me a fit, figured my switch was bad.Got one off the internet and just waiting for the oil filter to come in at the local Cat dealer should be in in the morning. -

I’m wiring up the truck now. Using 2 12 volt batteries, not 4 6 volts ones. Here’s the diagram I’m using,is this correct?I am pretty sure the truck is positive ground.Anything I should be doing since it has been about 15 years since I last wired up a Mack. -

I don’t know about highly skilled,I grow up around Mack’s and heavy equipment. We had some of the best mechanics around,it was hard not to learn something.Yes both of you are correct with the mechanics today just want to replace the broken let alone why it broke. We had this one old timer that no matter what he was doing he always had the service manual out on the back of the truck. -

Tks for the heads up,that’s what I was thinking. The new felts for the vent channels I have are a bit to loose am thinking of getting some double sided tape to hold them in place.I got the vent window in on passenger side, going to get door panel in tomorrow. The best part of all this is I have the cab on the ground, makes things a lot easier.Would be a real bitch to hang doors if cab was on truck. -
