  5. I have seen lead in doors & cabs that I was told had to be factory. What have you guys ran into? Willie,YOU are the man! I admire your patience and craftsmenship! Al
  6. Nice survivor,Henry. I too hope you find a good home for it. Al
  7. Too bad the B& the R in the bottom listing, had to sleep outside for a time. They looked like they were both beautifully restored at one time. Now they have "patina" in todays world! Still nice, though! Al
  8. It looks to be a later E-6 though, you can see the aneroid valve on the pump. My '88 doesn't have that,my '90 did. I agree with the milkman, quick fix to peddle it. Agreed,a intercooled or aftercooled engine will run without the cooler, just not well or up to its full potential, for sure. Al
  9. Could very well be,Paul. I know a guy who's mechanic actually removed the intercooler from the guys truck, and told him," you really don't need that to run". Where do they get these guys? Al
  10. Cool (no pun intended). Always wanted to drive the Alcan. On my bucket list,I guess. Maybe we could do a "BMT Cruise" up to Alaska ? Al
  11. Yeah, that does look strange on the cooler end. Maybe its a glider? I can't even see an intercooler on the engine. Dual steering boxes on an RD meant 20K front. Would imagine the same for the RWS???. Al
  12. Got a '59 D47U,sure could have used your u/c,Will! LOL! Al
  13. I believe Gary Mahan has a similiar truck in his collection. Al
  14. Ha-ha! The "younger set" always tells me,"look it up on your GPS". I tell them,"all I have is a M-A-P". Al
  15. What type/style of aluminum fuel tanks are you switching to,Larry? Al
  16. Condolences to the family and his friends. Sorry for your loss, Fred. Al
  17. Ha-ha,Jeff! I have a buddy who told me 20 years ago that A/C & P/S & a good seat, make a guy "soft". As he had none of those comforts in any of his trucks. Funny,he now runs an air ride CH w/all that stuff on it! Call me softy, but the years don't make the job any easier on a guy! Al
  18. Those are nice,Jim. I can bet niether of them looked very nice by the end of 1946! As the post- war era was in full swing in our great country, and those 2 trucks probably didn't see much idle time. Al
  19. Sorry James,my whole post didn't show up for some unknown reason at first. I corrected it without looking at yours first! Al
  20. Back around '76 there was an article in the magazine "Truck Tracks",that featured a W-900 glider kit that was built with an ENDT865 & 6 speed. Don't know what he had for rears/suspension.The guy was leased to Sea Land and was running the truck on The Alaska Pipeline. Al
  21. I've got an old Popular Science mag from the late '50's that has a KW cabover pulling a set of WE turnpike doubles,on the cover.Pretty cool story inside,as well. Al
  22. Hope you are doing better,Mike. Yes,try Google Chrome. Al
