  1. Either way, I hope both get the treatment they deserve. Bill Abbott, from Iowa, sure did a nice job on his tanker (not to mention the beautiful job he did on his sleeper cab B). Al
  2. The louvered hood sure looks cool on that LT! How long did they use that side panel, anybody know ? Al
  3. Or 350's that are actually 300's. That one always cracks me up. An ad will say "350 Mack,5 spd." Al
  4. Classic picture. He looks like he is going to tell you just what kind of day he had! Al
  5. There was a J and a JT (turbo) series and also a C series that were smaller displacement engines. Al
  6. Mine too. Although it was not a positive movie for the trucking industry. Still some great shots. The old documenteries seem to be my favorite. The ones showing West Coast Fast Freight and P.I.E. are really cool in my book. The ATHS has these posted on YouTube. Worth watching,if you haven't already. Al
  7. I would say hydraulics. Interesting idea. But not one of Fruehauf's better ideas! Al
  8. Believe you're right Hobert62. I remember it from Macungie. Very interesting set-up,to say the least. Al
  9. Looks like simulators,Matt. Not a big fan of them. But being that the truck is so cool, I'll let it slide this time! Lol! Al
  10. If I remember right, Mark (vision386) , said his cousin owned that truck at one time? Anybody else remember that or is it ALzheimers kickin' in? Al
  11. You know Matt, a buddy of mine and were sitting around b.s.'n one night and started to wonder the same about trucks we had seen maybe just one time at a show and then they fell right off of the face of the earth. Makes you wonder. ?????? Al
  12. A Wauconda based Celli truck, would have been an O/O at the time. Nice pictures,Kevin. Supposed to be getting some of a Celli BCR soon. Can't wait! Al
  13. Reminds me of a similar truck from around here, when I was a kid. A local excavator had a single axle H -67 dump and tag along trailer w/a small crawler on it. He dug a few foundations in our neighborhood. Al
  14. I've got to order those covers before all you can get is a "V" on them! Al
  15. That's when they built bumpers that could stand straightening! Great job. That truck is looking better each time you show us a picture of it! Al
  16. I don't know if I have that issue or not, oldspwr? I did remember a story on Bolus in one of them. The name was familiar to me because there was a Bolus Truck Parts that used to advertise in the T-N-T magazine. Thanks for setting the record straight! Al
  17. Like the "PIONEER" designation on the ND license plate,Tracy. 1st time I noticed it. How fitting for Gus! Al
  18. The Babcock (inventor, original) 2 piece clutch brake is not too bad of a job to install. Did a few of them myself. Messy yes,but beats pulling a trans by a longshot! Al
  19. Let me know when they start lookin' like this again..............Al
  20. So it articulates a little too much,is that bad? Al
  21. But Matt,it's CLASSIC junk! ............BIG DIFFERENCE! (not according to da old lady, though) Al
  22. I always enjoy taking the old dog out, Jim. It was on Sunday morning, so all the nice policemen were in church! I was shocked to see its I-Beam axle was bolted directly to the frame. Very solid wagon. He also has a D-47U that will be riding around on it someday. Al
  23. An old friend called me up a few weeks ago and asked if I'd be available to move a short old low boy he'd bought. He said I was about the only guy that had a single axle MACK tractor that he knew of,that might be up to the task. I said "sure, just make sure it rolls and there is air in the tires". We hooked up the vintage LA Crosse with no problem. I hauled it back to his place only about 5 miles away. Everything went so smooth it scared me. She is a real peach in my book, and shouldn't take much to put it back in shape. Al
