    BC, Your MH box installation is almost the same as on my MH613 of 1991. The R-model I have has no additional holes although I have the only only two absolutely identical R's. Too probably PAI makes a universal box, if I produce them I would do it that way. Interweb search gave me 112USD for PAI FBB-4986 and it doesn't seem bad. Although I would pay 112x1.55 to get them here and I need them almost 4 pieces so it would be $695 Plus inside the US shipping... So now I think to fabricate them locally of sheet metal, maybe using the original end walls wich aren't so bad. By the word Doug Fetterly offered those parts made of stainless steel.

    I made some check out today. Basically both R and MH bottoms are the same. A R-model bottom is fitted to brackets by the 4 holes in the end wall (wich MH bottom has either but they're free). A MH part uses 4 holes in the sides to be attached plus 4 small holes along the bottom to fit air tank support strips (2 on each side). Those additional holes don't take their place on a R-model box so you will need to drill them through if gonna use it.

    Maybe a R-model one has no holes in the sides to fit MH mud flaps.

    I can't see the steering wheel. The one in the "Road warrior" was an Aussie or NZ truck with RHD.

    I looked over them on my trucks and both R and MH bottoms seem to me the same. At least I can say 100% sure I took the alu covers from one to the other many times and they're almost the same, fitted perfect. As I remember PIA had them cheaper than Mack. Don't know any difference in quality, they could be just from the same producent. The one on the picture is a R-model. And in relation to it yours is almost new

    They have a lot of pitting from seeing the pics. You should re-fresh the dogs for a good.

    Good job I'm going to do about the same on my R. That Donaldsn 4 to 5 muffler is waiting for me on the local dealer's shelf together with the stack. My case seems a bit easier than yours since I don't need to clear up the fuel tank so I'm going to use a part off a dump truck stack wich is Z formed. It's 4 inch and could be put below the muffler. I bought the chrome plated one from ebay by a chance. The muffler painted silver looks neat, hope that powder coat will keep its look as long as everybody said. Thank you for sharing the experience.

    I'd like to watch the latest Mad Max if they continue moving R's as the main theme. The one above doesn't look rough though.

    I have no idea why do you guys drool so much on them. That's sure a cool idea to fit some Canadian stuff on a truck if a truck is Canadian related or built (as my one). But those exactly seem to me not much as just a SS cut out with stock half dog attached to. So you need to get yourself to any laser or plasma cutting shop with a droving (the best) or just the picture from e-bay. I'd note cutting out such the maple leaf isn't reproducing a copyrighted stuff since it's just a leaf until with no dog.

    During all my lifetime this date was one of the greatest holidays overhere. Nowadays I would say, the greatest one, since the Revolution annyversary day went off with the end of the USSR. There was a big military parade in the city with fireworks in the evening. I watched the parade on TV though, too difficult to get yourself there because of lots of officials. For that reason I had to switch my TV set on for the first time since about couple of years.

    70 years back, late in the evening on 8 May 1945 Nazy Germany signed up of the surrender document wich marked the capitulation. It cost millions of lives of people of different nations wich we should never forget. The Soviet government announced the victory early on 9 May because the official capitulation was after midnight by Moscow time. So here in Russia we have 9th as the selebration date.

    Some decades back we had 11.00x20 truck tires produced in Russia. USSR more correctly to say. They were marked metric and it was 280x508. If you count out inches multiplied into 25.4 you'll get that figure. I think there were also 10.00x20 and 12.00x20 with metric marks of 254x508 and 304x508. Not sure it will help you much although as far as I know there are no modern tires of metric sizes wich reproduces inch types. 11.00x24, 11.00R24.5 etc is for taller, "full profile" tires and 285/75R24.5 or 385/65R22.5 is applied to low profile stuff.     A lot of newer stuff on it although its look is impressive. I always liked the color scheme. And sure the great amount of job is involved.

    That's pretty interesting post about South and Central American trucks. I haven't heard about those marks. The language is Czechian since that's Czechian model building site. There's written "Traksomex" produced those trucks in 80's years assembling them of Mack parts of different models. Cummins engines were used". But if you look at the pic the hood length is normal. Interesting is that RW hood is adapted to the classic R-model cab.

    Paul, that's cool you shared that. Don't know how it would be for the rest of you native folks but to me it was a real tongue twister. I agree on the paint work.

    Good spy work! That COE is WW2 Autocar or International with Timken axles but seeing the pic I'd say someone put L-model cab on it. Good choice of B's, hope somebody will keep any as a treasury.
