  1. Tim, I try my best. There's an interesting story over the truck I bought the hood off. The seller told there was some Bulgarian company wich built something in his city (Samara). They used that R to pull a concrete semi. Once they blowed up the engine they stayed it parked for a while. Than they ended up the construction job and vent back home. But without the truck wich probably didn't worth the transportation. Seems like they didn't pay import taxes and had it imported temporary. So had no chances to sell locally. Some moons later folks who had the truck in their parking lot resolved to get some cash. They offered it to local junk yards and it came to the guys I bought the hood from. Probably due to having no official papers the truck wasn't sold solid but cut into pieces. So I had to buy the rest. The most interesting thing was that the last seller kept those parts since 2008 and didn't sell anything excepting two alu fuel tanks and the pair of fresh front wheels just in the beginning. So it seems like a kind of saving.
  2. THANKS ALOT FOR CLEARING ME UP
  3. Looks attractive. Adding a bell, an axe and some ladders will double the cost. Am I right?
  4. Made a trip, got the hood and the axle. And sure some more pieces of worthless crap. For example that red air cleaner in beautiful shape. Very good part but I have the one already restored at the moment. The hood is generally good with exceptions of a couple of cracks wich seem repairable. Much better then the two I have. And of the correct length
  5. No, no!! Only one piece at a time
  6. Sorry again, this doesn't make sence to me in both languages. Sometimes i just feel stupid knowing all the words and having no idea what it means. By some reason it was translated as "one piece at THAT time".
  7. Sorry Paul, not this time. Those modern international speech systems work good when you need to say loooong
  8. Being not a firetruck now this thing isn't far from to be called a one of the kind. Nice looking rig showing out alot of love invested in it. Gas power is one more reason to ex-firetruck.
  9. Absolutely awesome stuff So many beautifully restored trucks and so many early ones. Thank you for posting the wide and detailed report. Some of the museum rigs were seen on here before but it's a real pleasure to put an eye on them again.
  10. Always glad to know things go better at some place. You will probably find out the fuel costs lower soon. Nothing like that overhere though. People was getting interested why the fuel costs go higher when the oil cost drops down? When oil cost went up gvnt said the fuel followed but now they're telling stories about other reasons. Recently I had to find out those oil costs drop down my personal income either. Not the end of the world though, i still have enough of old iron to play with. And the most everybody on here knows we never have a shortage of
  11. Your trip sounds like an adventure. Sorry to hear about all those flats but that's goot you could miss any other issues. Surprized of the numper of the tyres blown though. From seeing the pis there was a great show day. And it's nice everybody of your family enjoyed the entertainment.
  12. Those screen savers are incredable savers. Sorry still no one with Bulldog in the background. Yes, that's true Tim, people always find a chance to be unhappy when they have everything to be almost happy Thank you for sharing, now I go to a sack with a thought that at least some one has a nice time in a beautiful land.
  13. Yea, that Iranian deal haven't turn out nice. It seemed to me Obama had an interest in the strategial partnership. Probably a try to find support in the part of Eastern world. Doesn't look like a great achievment. As for my location that story will have uncomfortable follow. Getting back of Iran to the oil market means big increase of offer wich means lower costs. It will not be nice to Russia's oil export based economy and will push down the national currency again. I myself though am glad that local gwnt and economy will get a cold shower. It forses them to start thinking basic things better. At least a little bit.
  14. Because of the tinted windows the road shots are my today's favorites. Tom, thank you for the weekly report. And like Rustydog said in the end.
  15. Tim, as further you post as less words I have in my BMT actively trained lexicone to deskribe emotions. I wouldn't bet Other dog on this matter, just as he said above
  16. Nice old Macks, especially on the old pics. The breakfast place, the firetruck and the legs in the car are all eye candies. Thank you for posting Ray.
  17. I would say 200-300 kg for a naked skeleton of a cab. If you add doors, windows, seats etc you'll go to about 500-600 kilo's. But that's an avarage figure. At least less than a metric ton for sure.
  18. You better check out the info for your pump. Because I know the only reason for those two spots in the pump. I myself is far from to be a great Mack fuel pump specialist but my book tells "fill the pump" and "drain it through the plug". Also I had a deal with German Bosch fuel pumps off Mercedes car of early 70's and they had separate oil bath. With fill neck and plug. Later models became connected to engine oil gallery and had no such stuff.
  19. Well done, Randy! That's cool the kid has interests in history and such the event you provided with him was the best of what you could do. Thanks for the report about your activities, interesting to learn those facts.
  20. Some one didn't want to do his work?? Hmmm, strange...
  21. Have anybody checked out how much are new ones? I'm looking for the longest one to put on the right. Like the one on the picture. No matter how long from Lehigh Valley in my case though. Vlad
  22. When I polished mines I also didn't do the centers since I could cover them with chrome parts. This is what I've got after putting everything on. The covers were from Big Rig Chrome Shop.
  23. This bunch looks better than the previous one. Maybe the girl #2 got some skills from the pioneer. I'm for the calendar.
  24. Have missed the post, the truck looks great now. The result sure worth the job. Congrats!
  25. Well done weekend
