  1. The cost sounds good for just the engine and the nice condition B-model steering wheel. It would be a crime to part it out just for that reason though.
  2. The final result looks great. Congrats on the deal done. Just wonder the reason you haven't restored it as a fire engine.
  3. Looks too much as a former firetruck. Repowered with diesel? Or just put the cab, grill and the bumper from firetruck?
  4. I was looking for the one about 4 years back and got not much of luck. It was no longer avalible from Mack. Watts offered me a NOS one but the cost was something like $600 and the size of the box killed any chances to ship it to me. Finally I found a used one from Global Truck Traders. Those times one of our members worked there, he helped me with that. Now he's not in that business. By the word I have never heard about the PAI one. Would like to know the part#. The sorrounding trim was avalible from Mack (at least 4 years ago) and from PAI either. 3 big parts and 3 small clips to cover the gaps.
  5. Tom, thank you for the pics. The girls and goats are as nice as the turkey.
  6. Thank you for sharing. IH is nice and the environment is incredable!
  7. I'm not too old fart as I feel myself but I'm far from to accept things as they are now about quality. I read and hear such stories from many people from different parts of the globe. With some point though. From people who use to think on matters of issues they meet and know a reasons of why things are as they are. I TOO WONDER how long it will go this way and what those things will be in the nearest future. Our life goes too fast and we might get technical collapse soon or something else.
  8. Sounds incredable frustrating. A good thing about an overhaul is you're able to control the assembly. Buying a Re-man you sure suppose to obtain the facrtory quality. And such the case tells very loud about that quality. Too sad.
  9. Nice scenaries, thank you for sharing. Colorado river is on my "to watch" list but in Utah. Currently it's not the plan for the nearest future though.
  10. That frame is long enough to put a big bunk. Nice Arrrrr...
  11. It was that way later, on CH and CL models. Gold dog for "all Mack". I'm not ready to tell what years it was exactly.
  12. Happy Birthday Doug!
  13. Recently I saw some on ebay. Just put something like "Mack cable" in the search field. But usually you have to figure out wich one would work for you. Knowing the original number is an advantage.
  14. Best Birthday wishes Bob! 60 sounds like a score. Have a great day!
  15. That makes sence. I remember a long while back I read an article of how BMW bought some small European firm and continued producing its cars. But later I have never met any traces of that story. Haven't rifle through that though. Thank you for clearing me up.
  16. The color-back effect looks nice. Good work having such the crue! Hope the youngsters will enjoy this game for a while. As for stainless hardwear (and other SS parts) they give extreme corrosion effect when in contact with common steel parts. It was surprize to me once I heard that but after figuring out some circumstances of my practice I found it true wery much. That's why people don't use SS patches welding rusty car bodies. SS doesn't rust itself. But ruins the serrounding iron. If you use any SS part or bolt/nut/washer in contact with iron use any gasket and some grease to separate the parts. And it seems to me the same thing goes between chrome-plated parts and iron. Sometimes you can see rust where chrome bumper touches steel body part wearing the paint off.
  17. You're always welcome guys!
  18. That's right way to do it. The cab looks solid. Hope you will save some labour on fixing it up after that lot of the cleaning work. Good luck on the continue.
  19. Neat ducks! And turkey's. I have never seen any turkey flying. And... did I say about turkies? A good point about the bank account
  20. Hi Pawel! Great news!! I know exactly what you feel because I tried to drive a big truck for the first time after driving a car for nearly 20 years myself. Funny thing with me that I had no one hour of practice with a professional instructor. Only at the exame Another nice thing was to start trainings driving my green American beast with mostly ground-off split gearbox. So you have to make 2-3 attempts to put in every gear. Saving power on avoiding the clutch use though. Good luck on the deal, I hope and at the same time sure you enjoy it.
  21. Sounds good! But I'm afraid all that is just a dreaming. Or... If you noted the article said about a dog sled at some point
  22. Sorry to making you upset looking the pictures. Here's the last bunch. The red VW concept car seemed attractive to me. I haven't learned any details about it though.
  23. Some BMW's including the white color strange unit. Never seen anything like that before.
  24. Jaguars XKE. Some British company reproduced the most of the outside panels for XKE so you can build about a new body for that type of car.
