  1. Attractive offer. lucky I already have one on the truck and one as a spare. But as Leversole once said... (could be Google-translated)
  2. I suppose it wouldn't be enough to set the brackets only. If this works no need of those offset bushings. Seems a factory do it this way playing with bushings and that's the correct way. If we want to go our "shop" way installing used parts there seem two choices to me. 1st (and more correct, and probably easy) - cut off the bushings, buy them new. Align and set brackets, put new bushings e t.c., align axles and weld. 2nd - assemble axles with everything including brackets, put onto the frame with temporary bolts and check the distances. Than try to align moving the brackets (and correcting the holes) or playing with the brackets swapping them. It the brackets fit different than they were larger bolts might be required to cover the holes increase. The point I personally dislike with welding is I prefere to sandblast and paint brackets separately. And I have it almost done. Welding good painted parts when on a chassis makes me cry. The matter of the question is not a today need to me so I have a bit of while to keep figuring out. So sharing your experience is strongly appreciated.
  3. I'm going to remove a set of Neway's from one frame to another. One thing bothers me. I read in some Neway bulletin (on the net) that steel bushings you can see welded into the lower ends of the frame-mounted brackets are originally excentrical. So after you have the brackets on the frame rails and attach equalizer beams together with axles you can turn those bushings checking the axle alignement and than weld them up in place. I'm not going to cut off those bushings and it has me scratching my head. Seems like a temporary attachment of whole axle assemblies with the brackets onto frame rails might be required. Or anything else. Vlad
  4. Very impressive! Don't remember seeing anything like that on the road.
  5. Happy Birthday to Lucerne Tractor, Mack Man, Jocko and the rest of the gang!
  6. RW-II and a soft nose L-model. Too difficult to choose from so many outstanding designed trucks.
  7. Welcome on here! That's a right place to get what you want. Just keep looking over the threads you're interested and at some point you will surprize of amount of info you keep in your mind. Be careful checking "Trucks for sale" forum though. This might get you out of storage place and $$ pretty soon Vlad
  8. That was the first I was going to say! Cool double-Hahn picture and the two Superliner pics either. GMC is the top notch! (Hmm, did I say anything about a notch?)
  9. Looks fine! Wonder how things will go with the curved parts of the tank..
  10. Great! Let me know the secret of how to get such a nice B-model by just swapping an engine in a MH?
  11. It could be read, not a relaxing read though. Unfortunately I'm way off of help to find a rig in Texas. Vlad
  12. Glad to see tyhe progress. Looks like the end of a tunnel. Wish you no surprizes along the "run-in". Or at least no serious ones. And the dog looks so nice so there are more chances it could be stolen then the unlocked spare
  13. Thank you for the pics Tom! Some of them seem extremely bright today. What a nice place to make a leak near that waterfall! The goat being so close to the road - couldn't it be the source of that good bacon?
  14. Thanks for the warning Swishy! Cheap wallet advice is worthless! I'm not sure I'll be able to check in myself around that neck of the woods sooner than you although I will keep all that in mind using local parking lots.
  15. The aftercooler should have the holes in the upper and lower end rails. The grill bolts on right there.
  16. Oh, sh*t! I was going to email you Ken, but now you're already back. Sure kidding Hope the relax time went smooth.
  17. Happy B-day Al and Baithauler!
  18. The cost sounds good for just the engine and the nice condition B-model steering wheel. It would be a crime to part it out just for that reason though.
  19. The final result looks great. Congrats on the deal done. Just wonder the reason you haven't restored it as a fire engine.
  20. Looks too much as a former firetruck. Repowered with diesel? Or just put the cab, grill and the bumper from firetruck?
  21. I was looking for the one about 4 years back and got not much of luck. It was no longer avalible from Mack. Watts offered me a NOS one but the cost was something like $600 and the size of the box killed any chances to ship it to me. Finally I found a used one from Global Truck Traders. Those times one of our members worked there, he helped me with that. Now he's not in that business. By the word I have never heard about the PAI one. Would like to know the part#. The sorrounding trim was avalible from Mack (at least 4 years ago) and from PAI either. 3 big parts and 3 small clips to cover the gaps.
  22. Tom, thank you for the pics. The girls and goats are as nice as the turkey.
  23. Thank you for sharing. IH is nice and the environment is incredable!
  24. I'm not too old fart as I feel myself but I'm far from to accept things as they are now about quality. I read and hear such stories from many people from different parts of the globe. With some point though. From people who use to think on matters of issues they meet and know a reasons of why things are as they are. I TOO WONDER how long it will go this way and what those things will be in the nearest future. Our life goes too fast and we might get technical collapse soon or something else.
