  1. It was for sale there for a long while, on Truckspaper or Craigslist. Was announced on here either, maybe more than one time.
  2. It has a powerful look. Studebaker cab? Or its own?
  3. Thank you for the pictures. I like the blue truck's inspector and the red truck's inspector too. Good to see the trailor has a "short memory".
  4. A lot (or the most?) carriers here use Chinese tyres. Mostly Aeolus, Double coin, West lake and others. The talks about were different although costs beat up other reasons. In general I hear they're good until you overload them. It's said taking to account 95% of all loads were way out of limit just one year back when hard ristrictions applied. Some "fashioned" owners-operators put Michelin's or Conty's on a streer axle and drive ones are generally Chinese or Russian made otherwise. I personaly myself have just minor experience putting Aeolus 11R24.5 on my R-model all around. To the moment I made less than 2000km on them and with absolutely no load. Haven't had any issue so far.
  5. China is a helpful country A couple of years ago I bought the whole set of 12.00R24's. Don't remember what they exactly cost but I do remember I was going no less than a year to make that deal.
  6. From what you posted I can see the most things are BIG in Montana I like the highway - wide and empty. Or... is that a local road??
  7. Pretty interesting. I would be likely to learn more about. Vlad
  8. Last year I found one in the woods. Not sure it was sold less than 10 years back though. Especially seeing the amount of water inside it... Mike, good luck on fighting the world.
  9. That doesn't look nice. Hope people will withstand.
  10. I agree on the matter of the question. I don't actually know how much of that worthless disk space is required to continue the trucking news thread on a top gear range but it looks like many of us on here would like to know the matter of the issue and the scale of the disaster. If any disaster really exists. Hope that doesn't relate to a top secret kind of info.
  11. Seems like MH is too high and dangerous for you Mike. Otherwise I'd offer one to swap for RW. Just kidding. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Try to keep every thing in its load range. Including your activity.
  12. A couple of years back I had luck getting "E6 overhaul manual" from www.autorepairmanuals.biz. That book covers the most aspects along that engine. Cost about $50 if the memory serves. As for a R688 vehicle book I'd like to learn a place they're laying on a shelf and covering with dust to be bought from.
  13. Was that nice offering a used injection pump with $2800 cost? Looks like no one exited much enough to put a bid.
  14. Good luck on the project! Hope RD will fly soon!
  15. Glad to see the progress on getting her together. Ummm... I mean the truck.
  16. No play in shaft joints and splines is good. The best answer would be bringing the shaft to a prop shaft shop to put on a test/balancing bench. I would expect those folks tell you to swap the splines part before any reason in balancing appeares.
  17. The thirst thing I was going to say on that was "kiking around?" From the story posted it seems I wouldn't be far from the truth.
  18. Hmmm... Red hood became white already... That's winter!
  19. Glad to hear you have your air line issue resolved. I understand you wery well since I use to have exactly the same situation meeting a trouble with SAE pipes etc being in the completely metric environment. It's a bit easier here though because local "DOT" can't inspect such modifications knowing not what Mack truck is and wich styles of pipes it should have. And usually Renault either. I'm afraid (and would advise) you should try to check in some Renault trucks or other European forums to get info on Midliner. Probably if you just don't say "Mack" talking about Midliner those guys might not find anything extraordinal in a request. Another thing that bothers me those folks might be found as French speaking community... Although if the memory serves Midliner was not a Renault (and Mack) product only. A shadow of Vulva was somewhere about that either.
  20. Add a bit of fire under your body guys since we also wish to see the final product! All expectations go to the best in this story but the fingers are crossed
  21. It seems not easy to weld a steel guard to alu grinder body. I hate working unprotected but if I try grab a grinder I always find all of them with protectors ruined. Looks like my guys play Russian rullette...
  22. From seeing the wide bumper I'd say it's EH or EQ. Wet trace on the fuel tank just sreams "Diesel". The tank itself looks aftermarket. And at least some of or maybe all of factury diesel E's had "Mack Diesel" badge on sides of the hood. If you pay attention to the form of the front axle beam you can see the difference to the one on the picture Paul posted. Israel truck has it heavier. But as far as I've found out from studying the pictures in E-model Mack book (green serie) the axle beams roamed to heavier styles during the production years in every E-serie Mack. Nice truck
  23. Exactlly as said above. Your R-model is by some reason just a R-model and lots of parts could be found off commercial trucks.
  24. The most thing you need to start from is the current ratio. You can find it stamped at the front right of the diff housing on the beveled surface. Something like 4.17 or 3.86. Must be the same on FR and RR diffs. Than just Google "CRD-93" with the ratio and you'll be full of offers. If you want to go a self rebuild route gear sets are avalible from PAI.
  25. It was for sale for a while. Are there better chances to sell in Massachusetts?
