  1. U.S. sales of medium- and heavy-duty trucks rose 15.7% in July compared with year-ago, as deliveries hit 35,966 units, WardsAuto data shows. In Class 8, nearly all brands enjoyed double-digit gains as sales jumped 17.8% to 18,793 units, compared with 15,340 year-ago. Mack led all brands, posting a 45.2% gain and increasing its share to 10.0% from 8.1% in prior-year. PACCAR’s Kenworth and Peterbilt brands also posted solid gains of 23.9% and 17.2%, respectively. Segment leader
  2. Those split manifolds gave a nice deep roar very similar to the White gas engines
  3. VW with an American drive line. Very interesting how every manufactured item is so intertwined. Does Scannia offer any American components? I noticed that Volvo penta has a large V-8 gas engine line up. Why not bring back the E-9 marine engine and compete with Scannia?
  4. From the H. Transcon U-models were ex Wilson tractors after they went bankrupt. The tandems were powered with Cummins VT-903's. Not sure about the single axles. I think Wilson bought about 400 U models. It seems that there last purchases were S model IH's. They bought white road bosses after the COE freightliners.
  5. I remember Trans-Con had tons of Blue Freightliner COE's. Never knew they had Macks
  6. Saw a picture on here recently of a DM 800 dump. I think it was white with a grill guard and extended bumper. May have been recently sold I can't seem to find it now. It was pretty close to the ultimate DM 800 dump.
  7. I would guess both since LNG isn't available all over yet. However the plant experts should know. I wonder if they have any diesel powered kenworths.
  8. Tried to find rizzi on bing maps rt 59 plainfield. Can't seem to find it. Should be an interesting view.
  9. Smaller volume area = more gas velocity=greater turbine rpm- I suppose.
  10. Seems to be under powered when compared to f-350's thru f-750's
  11. 386. I saw one of those on the road about 30 years ago. After it passed i was definately questioning my sanity.
  12. Is there any advantage to dual stacks on a six cylinder diesel downstream of the exhaust manifold. There might be an advantage on a split manifolds as on the old time 673 187 HP vs single manifold 170 hp. & the cummins 220hp put puts & the white flathead gasers. Is there an advantage or is it just cosmetic. Are split manifolds or individual headers offered on MP engines.
  13. Go to the Golia Services web site and check out the CL 700 on the home page. Wow nice! BKROIS that might be the one you caught the back of.
  14. That is what I was trying to find out, Can you buy a chassis from Mack or not? Then you would probably need to buy a cab. Don't think the harness would be applicable If you were adding pre emissions equipment. There is a company down south I believe that completes gliders for Paccar Western Star and Shacker
  15. Amazing photos. Keep up the good work. That LE sure has a unique frame. Doesn't seem like there are a lot of CH axle forwards(large cars) too bad.
  16. When I was at the macungie tour a completed chasis entered the back of the plant(obviously assembled elsewhere) The chasis had the frame, rears, suspension, crossmembers, front axle, mounting brackets etc. they were all painted as well. The only missing members were transmission, engine, cab & wiring, polution control eq, fuel tanks wheels, tires. It seems if you could purchase a chasis you could get quite creative. That is if you were glider savy.
  17. Why couldn't you just order a chasis like it comes into the back of the factory before assembly of transmission engine and cab It would be a glider without cab and harness
  18. How does frozen corn on the cob come out.
  19. Mr. Karbel Just like the sighting of a brand new B-61 on April 1 a few years back. Then again I wouldn't put it past Volvo.
  20. Marcel It's good to see that it will stay in the states. What did you do to get 700 hp out of the E-9. Do you have a sales web site? Looks like you take good care of your refer fleet from the looks of the MH. What is the mpg for a 700 hp E-9.
  21. Congradulations. Looks like a trucker in training.
