  3. Never been into gambling at all Remember as a young bloke doing my apprenticeship I was having lunch at the pub with the boys from work They were all keen for a bet on the nags and I had go, done my doe and never had desire to try again which is just as well because once Im hooked on something I'm in boots and all, bit like my wise investments in trucks or farming 😉😉😉😁😁😁 Paul
  4. All cabs are pretty much the same except the Flinstone which has a different cowl, finding one will be the challenge Paul
  5. Maybe its just the angle of the photo From what I can see that doesn't look to bad, even in dry old Australia were no salt is used on roads we get a lot worse rust between the rails So back to the question at hand, the gap should make difference in my mind and must of been there from new for the cross members to fit Mack Australia or any other Australian truck builder didnt use "body bound bolts" back in the 60s, 70s and 80s, just normal high tensile bolts Huck bolts came along much later that I know of If it was mine and from the photos I can see, I would clean them up as best as I can, rust proof paint, cover the mating surfaces with heaps of grease and just bolt them back up Do the bolts up tight with a rattle gun and drive away Some times it pays to not over think things Paul
  6. I have never heard of a heated wind shield before so am of little to know help Might help if you can tell us make and model of vehicle it is in Paul

  12. Yes you will need to hook the coil up in the reverse otherwise the spark travels the wrong way I have some information somewhere that shows how to check I'll dig it up if I can and put up here if I find it Thats a happy looking dish licker you have there Paul
  13. Welcome to the forum Paul
  14. Looks like a great turn out for the event Paul
  15. Maxidynes were in Australia in 67-68 and running up and down the HWY beging of 68 First two were a Flinstone running interstate and F model pulling a tanker , FR wasnt around until later Both Gold dogs and gold motors 5 speed Maxitorques, Flinstone had 5.73 diffs and dunno about the F model now Paul
  16. Looking great, I dunno what colour is meant to be, next tin along works pretty good most of the time We dont have 8 inch grinders in Australia, or maybe they are a recent thing, it was all 4 inch or 9 inch and then in later years the 5 inch cordless, my preferred when of choice these days And as the years have passed I cant do as much grinding with the 9 inch as I once could, my arms and hands just turn to jelly and I have to keep stopping to recover Paul
  17. I doubt it is a sensor as the E6 is all mechanical and usually drives the tacho off the front of the motor Paul
  18. It's gotta help, as for will it fit any good ? No idea but I would imagine if people are selling and people are buying, then must be okay Paul
  19. The one that isnt spinning isnt the axle with a power divider so that shouldn't be the issue If only one wheel isnt spinning, thats pretty normal when jacked up like that as it is turning on the spider gears The power divider is in the front diff so will have little effect in this situation Paul
  20. These are the highflotation tyres we use on sugar cane haulot trucks The rims can be spider (dayton) mount and fit straight on were your duels were Give extreme flotation, are tubless, and apart from been noisy on the highway at speed seem to work fine We can and do travel at 100kmh with no dramas and a full load Admittedly this only short distance work and I doubt you would wanna drive for anymore than a half a hour at those speeds https://www.titan-intl.com/tires/SUPER-FLOT# Paul
  21. Okay a recent discovery, had the phone blue tooth thingymabob in the ute and just listened to video of the Scania V8 on full volume Not only could I hear it fully, I could also feel it fully Enough to put a horn on a jelly fish 🤩😍😍 Go on you lot give it a try, I could listen to that all day Paul
  22. I believe 80,000 lbs was available No springs in the camelbacks, just a walking beam Paul
  23. Looks like a fun project The way your removing your rusted panels is the way I have done it I feel I got a lot less damage to the bit I was trying to save than drilling and chiseling out the old panels Great work and keep us updated Paul
  24. And don't get me wrong, the Scania sounds pretty bloody good, the E9 has a sound all of its own, not better or worse but very distinct to it I think and I say this with the greatest of respect to our American friends, there is little chance of this becoming a swap in America because what we consider to be normal amounts of money to spend they tend to baulk at as the options in America are so much greater than Australia That Scania sounds pretty darn good Paul
