  1. Anymore news on the trucks ?history Paul
  2. Well I have looked at the transmission on google and it appears to be a 4 speed 3 range transmission So I'm thinking one of the range change gears has a crook bearing or gear, and the guess would be the mid range gears But remember I have never driven or even looked at one of these, just using common sense from what I can see and glean from the limited information we have at hand I dont see how injectors or even the clutch could only affect these gears Clutch would be in lower gears and the clutch would be slipping on a normal transmission Paul
  3. Whats the green tyre and bow for on the grill ? If I had my pick I would be frowned upon on this forum as I reckon the Pete would follow me home Paul
  4. Peachs and cream looks pretty good to me, no good about the bung diff though Paul
  5. I have asked this question before, and pretty much as Vald said and I think there's also better traction on off road conditions, or maybe a better ride There was a fairly famous Superliner in Australia than ran Adelaide to Darwin for many many years that had this wide spread camel back, it was doing road train work and there was a 1000 km of dirt each way, I reckon it did this for at least 20 years, 1 week each way Spread might not of been as wide as the Canadian type but was wider than a normal 44 ass end used in Australia Paul
  6. Struth, surely not, gotta be a mistake But in todays crazey world ?????
  7. Would that be the original tub on the back ? Paul
  8. Good luck to them if they can find a buyer Paul
  9. There you go, it just shows th ast Google isnt very accurate at all, And about the 1 buck a mile charge, my experience is, even if it was 50 cents a mile some teddy tight asses would still bitch and cry fowl and sook about it As the song the gambler goes, you "gotta know when to walk away" If someone is trying to screw you on the price of traveling then imagine what its gunna be like when you send them the rest of the bill, probably a good indication of a deal to walk away from I find that good people that are genuinely doing it tough are usually pretty up front about their situation and give me the option of not working for them as payment is gunna be strung out, they dont even try and screw me over the bill because they are just happy someone will help them But the teddy tight ass that uses everyone else's overdraft but their own, just screws me over from the start and have no intention of paying my bill on time or the full amount Paul
  10. If its overdrive 5th is direct and over drive, 11 and 12 4th gear is 9th and 10th You need to establish what gear box you have first I guess, have look on the LHS of the box about halfway up and it should have some numbers there Paul
  11. The code breakers are very underrated, the differences they made we cant even begin to imagine I seem to recall the native American indians had a code the Germans couldn't break, I might have that wrong but am pretty sure I recall something like that Paul
  12. Filled up last $2.20.8 per litre So that is $8.35 a US gallon but still in Australian dollars Which is $5.89 with the Australian dollar buying 71 US cents At least thats how my brain has worked it out, dunno how that compares to Yanky land ? According to Google the average US price is $5.75 today, dunno how accurate that is What does the average Joeh on the street say over there ? Paul
  13. So Im thinking this is a overdrive transmission by your description Is it noisy under load, when you back off or when you coast Is noisy when its cold or when its hot or the whole time ?
  14. Yes it is official, I am jealous 😘 So much classic stuff in the US compared to just about any other country including Australia I think the updraft carby was used because you cant flood them, fuel just runs oout onto the ground and not down into the motor literally flooding the entire motor until the tanks empty This technology of internal combustion engines was still really new, it wasnt until after WW2 that down draft carbys became normal and even then farm tractors and the like used updraft carbys well into the 60's Paul
  15. Do 44s have shockers on the Camel back, can't say I have ever seen them fitted Paul
  16. Good news Joey I dont bother praying, when if I ever get to see the big fella upstairs him and I are gunna have a serious talk because his grand plan is well and truly off the rails 🤔 But good news, if I was feeling down I just have to read the last couple of pages and I feel better, I'm as old as some, older than others and younger than a few and I think health wise Im kicking but Not always been this way but a fair few years ago I went ass up in a big cyclone (hurricane for people in the northern hemisphere) Anyway busted my back in couple of spots and left arm was no longer pointing the right direction So I decided I have to do something about this mess and decided I would take up running Couldn't even make a 100 yards at first but after 12 months I could make 10 km or about 6 mile and still it most days Lost a heap of weight and everything else medical wise got better Glad you have some work Joey, I have the opposite problem these days but that can does change in a heart beat Paul
  17. I do like the look of those C models, sort of not the prettiest truck about but they still look just right if that makes any sense Paul
  18. According to the link provided above the Japanese only lost 1 light carrier the Shōhō and the carrier Shōkaku was badly damaged as well Yorktown wasn't sunk either but also badly damaged Although the battle was a tactical victory for Japan (according to the article above) it was a strategic defeat for Japan They had both their carriers mentioned above out of operation and their other carrier Zuikaku lost half it's planes Paul
  19. If this is all true we best start trying to find a way to survive and be viable with out population growth It can be done but Australia is almost addicted to this way of keeping our economy afloat Paul
  20. I wonder if the trailer is what is called a "Tilt" trailer in other parts of Europe Dunno why they are called tilts as they dont tip but thats the generic name in lots of parts Europe Thanks for your reply Vlad 5.73s means your gunna have a nice steady cruise and see plenty of country side Does the truck have a air ride cab ? Paul
  21. Thats a heck of a story, never know what is around the corner Your father did well to keep it all together and stop the truck Paul
  22. As always Vlad a interesting story Interesting trailer as well, your the only other bloke on here thats crazy like me Great stuff and looking forward to part 2 of this adventure Paul
  23. As already said a maxi can is leaking, for the price of them I would just change all 4 Thats me just spending with gay abandone 😂😂 Paul
  24. Does anyone work for free for you Joey ? I doubt it so dont do it for them, a friend of mine did a lot of work for a large trucking company He got crook one day and ended up in hospital (heart attack), anyway this company jumped up and down and made a hell of a song and dance and said he would fold if it wasn't for them (I have condensed this story quite a bit) He told them in the way only a Australian would to "bugger off" Funny thing was his business did change from bending over backwards to please a few large customers to a never ending queue of small Mum and Dad types that were always appreciative of his work As one door shuts another opens When someone pays you they are buying a piece of your life, dont go selling your life to cheap as you only get one shot at it Paul
  25. I think Japans economy is far worse than most people think Negitive interest rates, stagnant growth, no were to grow to, and no one really deals a lot in their currency much It appears China is quickly heading that way as well Paul
