  1. Another question while I'm here; If you look closely at the picture of the dash where the heater~a/c control panel is, you'll notice the fan speed switch is non-existent. Where's a good source to look for these older Mack parts, specifically a new control panel? Are they still readily available at Mack?
  2. Ahhh...good deal D-Day. I'll start digging into it probably tomorrow. I appreciate the input!
  3. I have an '83 MH 600 that the tach isn't working. I haven't looked into it yet, only had it home for less than 24 hours before joining this forum. Where to look first; is there a sensor on the flywheel housing like any other normal truck that drives the tach, or something else to run the tach? Thanks in advance.
  4. I'm just throwing this out there...I restore vintage KW's. In two of my '78 A models, I went to a GPS driven speedometer from speedhut.com. They are fantastic in my opinion, because they don't care about component changes, tire sizes, or anything because they're satellite driven units. I LOVE them. And for around $280.00, they're less than OEM ones. Highly recommended for this exact type of deal.
  5. Thanks for having me. Just picked up my second cabover Mack I've owned over the past 40 years. This one's a 1983 MH 600...E6 350 HP, Mack T2100 10 speed, Mack 38k rears. Been sitting well over 4 years. I pulled the air filter and fuel filters and checked for issues, 2 batteries and a sniff of canned glow plugs and she lit right up and purrs like a Swiss clock. Very clean outside as well as interior. Which leads me to my first question; (maybe I'm not posting in the proper threads for this,) but was wondering where to start looking for the tachometer drive source. I'm sure it's electronic, haven't spent 10 minutes looking into it yet because it's cold at the moment. Thought I'd do it the lazy old man's way and ask around here first. Tach isn't working. Is it a sensor on the flywheel housing like most others, or is it different on a Mack? Thanks in advance.
