  1. Check out Truckpaper.com go to "Dodge 800". Super clean 1958 800 fire truck
  2. Oh you mean the W of T article where the author calls a Ford LTS (or LTA) 9000 an "LN 8000 with a 400 HP 3406 Cat"??? Two wrongs-"8000s" were mid range powered and the LN was a short BBC- not a 106" like the set back axle LTS/LTAs. In any case I also don't think that Dodge was a 1966. I believe by 66 that conventional cab shown in the picture was replaced by the "C" series cab with swing out fenders as posted by Underdog. Also don't believe that Dodge cab had anything to do with an R model.
  3. Should have added this for what its worth. Like a lot of guys I'm plowing with a conventional power angle snow plow hung off a loader in place of the bucket. And like a conventional pick up equipped with a typical Fisher /Meyers/ boss etc you have no down pressure. This makes it difficult to clean out up against garage doors etc. To correct this I welded about a 2" D Sched 40 pipe (its blue in pix) to the lift arm that the lift chains are attached to. This is positioned such that when I lower the plow, I roll the "bucket" control (quick attach plate) forward and the pipe then makes contact with the plow A frame. I can now put all kinds of down pressure on the blade. See attached shots-works very well.
  4. Well Fxy good move on the cab- after years of ice on my glasses and soaked Carhartt coveralls-they are pretty waterproof for the first 15 minutes I got rid of the open stations (755, then a 3320) and got this 4720 cab-I convinced the wife it was cheaper than treating me for pneumonia. Loaded tires and about a 550 lb concrete block I cast with a receiver hitch built in. Blade is a 6.5ft- I shop at Junk yards-looking for a 7' now-machine will handle an 8 but too tight for bay I keep it in.

  6. Well they are building trailers in US-how long before they invade with trucks???
  7. Having never driven a trailer dump, is the explanation for that tractor up in the air he was trying to tailgate spread, was going too slow and loaded the tailgate too much???
  8. I would have to believe though that these guys who get such foreign assignments get a certain amount of schooling when it comes to PR with the locals. Its one thing to have a beef with someone. Its another matter however when you take shots at the entire country. A guy with his stripes should know better you would think.
  9. Excellent, Excellent! There is a future for this guy in the land of "Blackhawk Down". You have to admire the Germans-they always are quick to act. It would not surprise me if some of the VW emissions engineers get assigned to join his staff! Oh, did not realize JBH had set up shop there-that must be where all the F'liner FLD 120's go once they hit the 750,000 mile mark.
  10. My bet is he has been reassigned to Somalia as sales manager for the Galendawagon program-with a very high sales objective.
  11. Actually Vlad to go back to my point I misquoted- the misprint I believe is in the comparison with the 11:00R 24. If the revs/mile go down, it has to mean the radius of the tire is greater.
  12. Kevin, Seems like I've seen enough press info that does NOT rule out the Everest. IMO, we are flooded with unibody crossovers. It would seem there is a market for a unique true SUV-old school Explorer. Might not sell in Westchester county NY but plenty of other places where people appreciate a true off road capable vehicle-I hope
  13. Thx for posting the Bridgestone link. It is current info. I have an old Rockwell Product Specification Book-TP 8958 2/95 print date -(boy I am old) One handy page is a generic tire size. As the discussion is on 24", most relevant data is revs per mile A comparison; size revs/mile radius 11:00 24 434 22.8" 11:00R 24 443 22 12:00 24 413 23.4 12:00R 24 438 21.9* 11:00R 24.5 474 20.5 11:00 24.5 472 20.7 12:00R 24.5 463 21 12:00 24.5 413 23.4 *This must be a mis print -fewer revs per mile than 11:00 24 yet lower radius????
  14. KSC, With everyone attempting to develop an "in house" engine line up, what would it take for Ford to bring at least the 7.3 and the 9.0 to the US? Again I really can't see Ford getting back into the high end of class 8 but IMO they are missing the boat by not having a tandem vocational based on the 750. There has to be a market for a low cost tandem that meets weight laws and is not expected to run a 100,000 miles a year.
  15. Here you go-these are 11:00R 24
  16. Show us the Ecotorq HERE in US!
  17. I do believe this truck has changed hands at least once in last year. The guy that had it before the current owner had it in its current condition. So a bit of mark up going on here. It is a very nice truck in any case.
  18. Thx for your past service and continued efforts today!
  19. Nice work on the truck but for sure, you get an A plus for shop cleanliness!! Keep the pix coming!
  20. I would think if anything, might there be some effort to roll back the compliance dates a bit? The objectives might be good, but are the compliance dates unrealistic? I would think with more time the industry might be able to develop a better end result. On another note, all the discussion seems to involve auto production in Mexico. What about trucks?? Are not all Rams/Mopars/Dodges built in Mexico? A lot of Freightliner production? A lot of Navistar production? As with a lot of issues, Trump will have to depend on the good people he brings on board for advice-I hope! Just saw a Jack Welch interview that seemed upbeat on just where the "real" Trump will be headed.
  21. Well the good news I suppose is that it sounds like one American company that did not end up with owners in China-or should I say "Yet in China?
  22. Thx guys. Very interesting that UPS springs for V-10 powered 650's. Any OAP employees on this thread that might have a clue on size of UPS order? On another note, I was talking to a guy at a Mass steel service center yesterday. These guys have a number of new 750 Power Strokes in service. typical like 20 ft flatbeds. They replaced a bunch of older Cummins powered 750's. In a word, "no problems". He went on to elaborate-no problems compared to the old ones-constant issues involving the issues associated with the emissions issues and the regen/def BS. Ford dealer would say "take it to Cummins" and Cummins would say "take it to Ford." No issues from a driver perspective.
  23. thx Kevin, Tough when you have "CRS" disease!
  24. Guys, I recall someone posted a picture of a new UPS Ford F-650 box. I can't find the thread now. Any clues?
  25. Wow- huge news. Friend of mine currently fighting this and you can see the decline by the week. My mother-in-law also had it and unfortunately it lingered with her. I have to say when a person's body may be functioning but the mind goes it is the worst.
