  1. As always-"Caveat Emptor".."let the buyer beware". This outfit frequently posts large quantities of 24 " rubber. I believe a lot of them were Chinese . This is the first time I have seen Goodyears advertised.
  2. Heads up for anyone looking for subject tires. Joseph Equipment, Manchester NH has an ad in Mar 15 issue of Truck and Equip Post. 150 of these "new" mounted "on rims". As usual no pricing info in their ad. 603-641-8608
  3. Very nice Matt- what is your method that keeps the overspray in control? Your shop looks clean!
  4. Rich- very nice-will look good at the show in October with the boom fully extended and a big American flag on the end!
  5. Good point-and closer look says the conveyors look like they are sitting on temp cribbing. Also doesn't look like standard rail gauge
  6. Agree-off loading hopper cars-looks like maybe early stages of installation because you would think they would have pits under cars where the conveyors would be positioned???
  7. Likewise congrats-and Hatcity right on! 40+ years ago as a terminal mgr, I would have all these guys come in with their new "class 1 ( a)"s. and with no experience looking for a haz mat job no less. My speech was always the same-in short.."get yourself some road experience in a straight job"
  8. Don't see any chains lying on deck-would have to think enough of an angle and too much "steel on steel" on ramp/beavertail and off it went??
  9. Kevin, Thx-even a blind man like me can see the rear dif! I can't believe that conventional configurations don't make it even in these heavy off road applications. The premium cost for these high tilt configurations has to be significant.
  10. 123 or 127????
  11. Impressive-thx for the education! Looks like a stock Binder hood off a 7400!
  12. wow- $875,000 per copy! Just wondering-all that "blast survivability" equipment, but would a burst from a AK-47 through the engine compartment disable this vehicle? I can't imagine there is any armor plate under that fiberglass nose or is there?
  13. THX BC-Interesting article.
  14. Wow-I'm asking questions about wings on a 19,500 lb F-550 and you have something on a half ton? any more pix? How is it attached?
  15. Any clue who the customer was? First thought too big for logging-maybe oilfield work in middle east??
  16. Rich- sounds like a home run-hard to believe that is a 99. And an owner operator in what I would call light duty-residential roof trusses! Take it easy getting used to it. See too many of these tree guys around here who either don't look at their charts or don't think they need bigger pads on the ground!
  17. Very nice Rich-Not the usual Hertz, United, Sunbelt cast off!
  18. I hear you Kevin on the horns. I assume the install is much cheaper bolting to the bumper plus no worries about roof penetrations leaking. But did I read correctly that Mack was offering an option for a roof mounted lanyard? Horns still behind bumper but driver's ego is saved when a kid gives him the arm pumping motion! Hah-when I was working my way through school I drove a Binder dump truck Truck was registered for 24,000 gross and I used to CARRY 12 ton of asphalt or graded base. Juice brakes so when kids would give me the "horn motion" I would reach up to roof like I was tugging on something while tapping the horn button on steering wheel! Kids beside the road and bigger kid driving the truck! As for the JMC Cargo I would have to believe that body work is a bit more expensive than the Otosan version.
  19. My god they'll never make it! Air horns on the roof! Deduct .00016 MPG! Almost as bad as stand alone turn signals that are clearly visible and don't get lost in the glare of headlights!
  20. Swishy, Thx-it looked to me like same as two front axle hubs but I'm clueless about the driven tags/pushers in EU-thx for education.
  21. Tridem axle? looks like a tag to me???
  22. Matt- outstanding piece of work. Agree on comments on welding up a bracket out of plate but this just adds to your trucks "wow" factor.
  23. Actually I thought that was the primary function of a right hand wing- knock the height of the built up windrow down so in the next storm, the front plow has a place where the snow rolling off the plow can go. And speaking of wings, any opinions out there on wings on 19,500lb trucks like F-550's? I'm told a lot of towns in Northeast are going that route. My town had budgeted almost 120 grand for a new 550 with a wing. I couldn't believe it but it didn't happen in the end-only because the town ordered an F-550 crew cab and when the chassis got to the body outfitter he broke the sad news..."can't put a wing on a 4 door!
  24. Looking good Rich!
  25. Can't imagine how these guys can make the economics work.
