    Great story. Good to see him working it still. What a difference it makes having no drivers through a truck. The blue mountains just west of steak and kidney (Sydney) will occasionally get snow. Makes news usually if it does. I've been watching hwy through hell and ice road trucks and yeah, I'll leave that cold stuff to you guys!

    So what percentage of working truck would be affected by this? I mean surely no great saving of emissions will come come of this.

    Truck looks familiar. I distinctly remember seeing that bullbar somewhere. Was previous owner a member of this site? Anyway it's a very nice machine and congratulations on the new dog.

    Cab or chassis? I know an old bloke who put grease nipples in his chassis and would pump grease in there to stop rust. It would drip out on hot days and make a mess.

    We had new steel ones made for my dad. We gave them the old tanks, they kept the steps and filler neck and rest was new. New tanks you can have set up any way you like.

    Yoos brothers construction did it recently on a superliner. Page 2. Not sure what brand he used. I know 3m do some and most 3m stuff is pretty good.

    I've not seen flex pipe like that before. It looks quite thin, although it's hard to tell from photo. The type I've used is as per photo below. Mind you, I doubt it could flex that tight radius your after.

    For what it's worth most sands we use is regulated as to how much silica is in it. Most modern "sand" is supposed to have a max 1% silica content. Normal sand contains 90% silica. My mate said he would never use that even with a mask.

    I sympathise with you. I wasnt aware the "new breed" trucks used a Volvo chassis. Sure it makes monetary sense, but that means nothing when you've invested your heart and soul with a brand. I hope you sort out your difficulties with your current truck, and it all turns out ok.

    Most guys around here use a redish coloured sand. I had a mate use plain sand, that is until he found out it causes silicosis and he stopped using it pretty quick.

    Thanks for your opinions guys. I guess it's worth a try as at the moment I don't have an alternative. Arc or mig a better way? I think with a short rod on the arc I could probably get both sides welded. Vlad, how about I meet you half way? 😜

    Hi guys. Ive been searching for either a 38 or 44 housing to complete my back end. Not having a lot of luck though. I did find a cracked 38,000 housing which I could basically have for nothing. It's cracked where the diff centre bolts in. Are fabricated housing easier to repair than a cast housing? Or is it still a waste of time trying? Ive also read that it's usually the back diff which cracks. So if it was repaired and ran in the front would this help any? Included is a pic of the crack. It's about 3 inches long.
