  1. That is a sharp looking truck, I hope you find it.
  2. They should make a scale model of a pressure washer to make it easier to clean those models.
  3. I remember seeing a lot of OK trucks back in the 70's.
  4. I got the suspension pieces in place and lined everything up before bolting it together. These are some high-tech alignment tools I used. The u-bolts are 1-1/4" and the torque spec is 1,400 ft. lbs...I'll just use a cheater pipe and 1" drive breaker bar to get as close as I can. They came from PAI, I've been impressed by the quality of their parts.
  5. I've still got it, I'm keeping all my extras until this one's done and then I'll decide what to do with them. I would like to put one out by the road as yard art...the only problem with that is there will be a lot of guys stopping to ask if I would sell it.
  6. Yep, looks like a General to me.
  7. Bubble gum machine done hit the jackpot!
  8. The ball joints on the torque rods were in pretty tough shape but thankfully one of my cutoff rears had really nice joints on them. The torque rods were different so I took all the ball joint pieces and put them in my rods.
  9. It's a 1960 H67ST...here's a photo from 3 years ago when I started taking it apart. In the above photos, you can see the cab sitting in front of the chassis. It's a cab off a single axle that was in much nicer shape than the black one. The cab has been restored already (by someone who knew what he was doing, not me!).
  10. I actually started putting my chassis together...this will be interesting. It was tough to get it all leveled up because the right rail is slightly sway-backed.
  11. They sure had some nice-looking trucks back then.
  12. That DM 6x6 with super singles all around is nice!!
  13. That is a sharp looking truck. What kind of trans does it have?
  14. Niiice! It looks like something out of Mad Max with no hood and that huge bumper on front.
  15. It's sad to see a cool truck like that relegated to sitting in the weeds, but it looks fantastic now. My hat's off to guys who will put in the sweat and money to bring it back and put it on the road.
  16. I talked to Dallas yesterday, he was very helpful but they didn't have anything.
  17. Yeah, I'd hate to work on the right side of that engine.
  18. Are you in the Chicago area? Photos would really help sell your items.
  19. Vlad is da man! I sanded the paint off the shaft and areas that hold the shaft; now it's pretty tight. That epoxy primer is tough--it was barely scratched where the shaft was being pinched in there.
  20. Pickin' em off!
  21. I got my shoes relined, with tax right at $400 for 4 sets. Now all I need is two more drums; if anybody knows of a place that might have old brake drums on hand please let me know.
  22. Mine has rubber bushings; I hope they're not supposed to spin on the shaft. I won't be putting a lot of miles on this truck so hopefully the rough surface won't cause a problem. I'm going to try your sanding idea and see what happens.
  23. I agree on the progress...sometimes I'll spend hours on something and when you sit back and look at it, it doesn't look as hard as it actually was!
  24. In Huntington WV, $9,500. The ad says it has a 300 Mack with 13 speed. Looks like it's currently being used on the road. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/columbus/search/?query=mack&vertical=C2C&sort=BEST_MATCH
  25. I'm putting the bottom caps on my trunnion (SWDL56). They had one shim under each side of the caps; there was no gap when I took it apart. All the parts are what came out of it, they weren't too rusty. I sandblasted (didn't use aggressive grit) and primed everything. I've got them tightened to around 200 ft. lb. (spec on 7/8" fine #8 bolt is 600 ft. lb.) and there's still a gap under the caps...should I keep tightening? Does anyone have experience putting these together? I don't want to crack anything.
