  1. Watts Mack (sponsor of this site) has a lot of B model parts.
  2. An ad on ebay for a dealer's technical service manual, he says it's for fire trucks and buses. Looks like it's got a lot of info in it. Starting bid $100. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-MACK-Technical-Service-Manual-MACK-TRUCK-SERVICE-SHOP-REPAIR-BOOK-MANUALS/124282091876?hash=item1cefca3964:g:Xl8AAOSwEVBfJccO
  3. B model hood on ebay, $1,300 plus $350 shipping. Going by those prices, my truck should be worth about $100,000! And by the way, those are not louvers--they're rust holes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-1953-1966-Mack-B61-Vintage-Butterfly-Hood-W-Louvers/193603284633?hash=item2d13a7ae99:g:jU8AAOSwz7dfIuOL
  4. The ad says it has a 350 9 speed on taperleaf camelback. $4,750 https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/lancaster-1988-mack-mh/7168264787.html

  5. Classic theme song by Merle Haggard!
  6. That was a crazy movie, but it was pretty neat to watch that old Pete rolling down the highway.
  7. Super nice looking truck! You don't see those very often.
  8. It took me a minute to get the title of your post, I just had to sing it like Axl Rose.
  9. Those electronic logs are nice...you don't need kindling and matches.
  10. I'm putting my H model together from 4 trucks, but thankfully I've got a clear title for the vin on the frame rail so no need for any fancy title work!
  11. I don't know anything about the APADS, but I figured the compressor would kick off before the pressure got that high.
  12. I've driven several Petes that had a real nice ride.
  13. I was planning to use caster shims under the spacer blocks; then I noticed one of my H models doesn't have shims in it. As I was looking at the spacer blocks, I happened to notice that one end is thicker than the other (2-1/8" one end, 2-1/4" other end). I guess I'll put the thicker end in front and once the truck is all together, see if the caster angle is good. I've never measured caster angle before...can I measure it by putting a level on the spring seat of the front axle?
  14. Looks like someone has an air line run to the aneroid valve.
  15. On ebay, NOS. Opening bid $575...lots of cabbage. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154019155230?ul_noapp=true
  16. Kevin All's phone number is 607-434-1063.
  17. I remember seeing a photo of a Sears store with a kit house built inside the store.
  18. I went to put the front leaf springs on, since there's no weight on the chassis the springs won't squat down enough to line up the ends with the mounts. As you can see, the rubber insulator is cocked at an angle because of this. I'm used to working on springs that have shackles so they will swivel to line up. I even tried the old spring, it's the same way. Has anybody put front springs on that can give me some tips? When I put the engine in will the rubber settle into the right position?
  19. I was at a junkyard back in about 1981, a guy walked in with a driveshaft off a Dodge Dart that was bent in an "L" shape. The counter guy said "put a little too much torque to her, did ya?". He said he was driving along and the front u-joint let go, the shaft speared into the blacktop.
  20. Definitely better than on the freeway!! I was at the Howard Truck show in Fairborn OH a few years ago; Jerry had a nice Mack, believe it was an L model. The bumper and left front fender were missing, he said the pitman shaft sheared off on the interstate and took the driver into the median cables. Lucky for him the cables were there!
  21. Too modern for an H, don't know where a vertical radio would fit in them. I agree with the guys... it looks like the units I've seen in R, U, DM.
  22. Call John Chalmers at 717-334-8709 (let it ring 10 or 12 times). He sells door handles that look like that and he can probably tell you if they will fit your truck.
  23. I bought one years ago and it fit my H67, if you find one for an H it might fit your truck.
