  1. Familiar-looking guy in the latest issue of Hagerty magazine. https://www.hagerty.com/media/hagerty-community/this-fleet-of-fully-functional-vintage-firetrucks-is-ready-for-adventure/?utm_source=SFMC&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20_September_23_Newsletter_NewDD
  2. Asking $8,000; sounds like a fair price for the condition it's in. Says it has a 400 Cummins. https://www.ebay.com/itm/mack-superliner-truck/363114993513?hash=item548b571769:g:DOkAAOSwvIpfaWql&autorefresh=true
  3. Nice!! I'll bet the guys fight over who gets to drive those two tankers.
  4. Tapatalk is an app that keeps all your favorite forums and sites in one place, you put your login info for each site on your Tapatalk page and it logs you in automatically. I'm very leery of these sites that want you to provide passwords for other sites, seems like a big security risk.

    1955 LTL

In Texas, asking $14,000. Good thing it's so far away, if it was closer I'd probably do something stupid like buy it. https://aths.org/backlot/8664/1955-mack-ltl-with-275-supercharged-cummins/texas/usa/trucks/
  6. I watched a video about the torsion bar suspension on these; the front and rear wheels are hooked to the same bar so the car "floats" over bumps instead of pitching and rolling...really interesting.
  7. I'm almost done sanding, getting ready to paint the chassis. I pulled it outside for the first time in over 2 years, I tried a shortcut to compress the front springs by pushing down on the front of the frame with my bucket tractor, not enough weight to compress the springs. So I pushed it back inside and used Vlad and Jim's idea of chains and binders, that did the trick. The only problem was the rubber insulators wouldn't compress enough to put the caps on all the way so I had to whack away at them with a utility knife. They are Automann brand, I think one problem is the rubber compound is stiffer than the original insulators. I finally got the steering box back from the rebuilder, he had to replace some parts with used ones he had on hand. Charged me $300, I thought that was really reasonable. The original pitman arm was well worn, thankfully I had a better one on one of my parts trucks.
  8. I saw this LJ for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Lima, Ohio. You sure don't see many L sleepers around!! Frame has been cut, has a Cummins engine. Ad says it's in rough shape, asking $450 obo.
  9. Very nice! Just enough chrome to be classy.
  10. Looks to be a good deal, $18.49 with free shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mack-F-F607-F609-F611-F715-F731-F737-F741-F743-F745-F749-F759-F763-Truck-Manual/324286681451?hash=item4b80fe116b:g:zl8AAOSwZVlXwjPI
  11. Barry, we do appreciate you hosting this website and maintaining it. Thank you!!
  12. That's sure interesting how the convertible cab is cut and the rag top is fitted.
  13. When I was a kid I always hated the pickup-cab trucks, but now the nostalgia makes me think they look cool.
  14. That's a sharp Autocar! That front bumper is a beast.
  15. I like that long wheelbase LTL...looks like time for new front leaf springs.
  16. Probably not too many fire departments with their own wreckers anymore. I see a lot of government agencies contracting out services like that.
  17. Nice looking bench! A good work table is really handy.
  18. Both of those are noice! The grille bars look very Kenworthy.
  19. $1,725 or best offer. Has fabric covered wiring, says it has original Mack color codes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MACK-B-Model-Complete-Wiring-Harness-With-Original-Mack-Color-Coding/154061778931?hash=item23decc2ff3:g:eKQAAOSwJnRfPq-a&autorefresh=true

  21. He started doing a lot of lowboy work, he may be busy right now.
  22. I worked on Cat and Cummins for 18 years, most of the trucks I worked on used Rotella 15W-40 and the owners were very happy with it.
  23. A pic from the web.
