  1. Thru the round looking cover on the front of the engine !The pump gear is slotted!
  2. 16 Year Old Rad !May be this needs cleaning inside after 16 years
  3. NO Relation ! But do replace all of the rest of the bolts! this is simply an age issue from what I have seen!
  4. Lots of things can be tried ! how ever the cam change will help eliminate the turbo lag and smoke on take off basically u already have an egr delete .egr is done internally by the cam on the AI, on the AC it is done after the fact! How ever the exhaust is still quite restricted by the exhaust manifold NATURE Of the Design, So Yes more can be done but how much are you willing to spend! Find an exhaust maifold and turbo to fit the bill from an earlier model truck!? Try the cam change if your still not saticfied then you could go after a turbo and manifold from say a earlier model late ninteys CH 460 that would let it breath Better.
  5. Replace the injection lines ! the code is u related ! For the code try cleaning the engine position sensor on the flywheel and being as the cam was replaced replace the cam sensor on the front engine cover it may have gotten damaged!
  6. Yup thats my vote I'd up root that puppy could save your self a big bag of money!
  7. So is it throwing up a check engine light!? Well it it runs good from a pail Correct? Did you check the tank vents I did all of the above once cause I was told to and it ended up being tank vent! The truck runs good for a bit then starts acting up sounds tank ventish to me! when something like this happens to got to start at the beginning and the cheapest and easiest and work to the expensive .
  8. Something could be stuck in the oil pump relief valve that is a fare drop in pressure pull the pan and look!
  9. yup cab wiring harness ECM huge project ! Get a donor engine way simpler! and more reliable!
  10. the heads have to come off Sounds like you grasped every other straw Also recently we had to stuck injectors due to bad sleeves another possible source of compression in coolant
  11. Bud ! You really haven't provided enough info for us to help here! Give us some symptom these fuel pumps were prone to quiting when warm plug had issues Bla bla each have there own signature ,ECMs have been known to quit,Fuel starvation has its own symptom you didn't provide a symptom just an opinion!
  12. Sounds to me by your description that you Are suffering from compression getting into the cooling system! First thought would be low liner protrusion! the other thought is to much DCA testing the coolant and only adding it when needed is the solution if this is the case! Some engines were built on low spec 19 to 23 thou The ideal spec is 25 to 28 thou!
  13. Note what happens when u turn the key on! Doesn't the heater fan operate? If not you have a bad accessory relay.
  14. Ac Cam helps do away with that slugish lag and smoke on take off !the exhaust manifold is still horribly restricted pouring more fuel in is not the greatest with out more air just my opinion ! The cam it self will help that is proven.from my prospective .
  15. You also may want to check fuel preasure it may be running out of fuel should make 20 psi plus to run proper under load!
  16. Take It at the flange
  17. Yup the lever has springs holding it in each direction look closely at it if there is a gap where the springz contact the lever replace the lever How ever by what your describing it my be worn internal governor parts,
  18. The ac cam fits same. And keep your ecu
  19. We have a truck in our shop right now both heads are off cause the injectors were stuck in the holes no# 3 and number five! Both centre cyls my guess is your injection shop guys hit the nail on the head! Had a porta power on em and they would not budge!Leaky injector sleaves
  20. Do you have a poping sound in the intake? You may have a failed lifter!
  21. It may be the diff ! We had one that did this! if it has a Mack limited slip diff they tend to pop and bang in certain conditions!
  22. Can't be done find a fuller rto for it you'll thank your self
  23. I think you will find the ecu runs the engine brake directly on this era of truck! no relays! Is there power showing up at the valve cover? also some newer stuff didn't let the brake work till oil temp reached 150 !
  24. The the transfer pump can be an issue ! They do fail! also check the tank vent!
  25. Yup Post your fixes so others may benefit by your gained knowledge
