  3. Bit of a big chore here for a shade tree guy how ever ! No you don't remove the head ! The pin will be a bear to get out but its usually doable! You can Re use the cam bushings they rarely fail YOU NEED TOOLS ! you need magnets to hold up the lifters to re /re the cam you need a press to get the gear off the cam You need heat to put the gear back on the cam and oven or a rose bud on the torch! the gear gets heated to 450 -475 deg plus to install I believe ! best to get your part numbers for the cam from the dealer there are different types as you can see by the list I provided!
  4. Yes you should and the pin is replaceable Chances are the cam is done for! PAI Offers kits for these. 5. Yes you should and the pin is replaceable Chances are the cam is done for!
  6. Yup its time ! You need to also look to make sure the roller guide pin is not sheared off take a look down the hole see if the pin is still there !!!
  7. ^689 is on the money there !Yup bogus tool in my mind ! Mark your gears when u pull it back in the same spot when u assemble!
  8. Yup Unless your p2 is usable your choices are limited
  9. Think Barry was working on updates earlier ! I was on earlier and it said this web site was not available And was updating!
  10. our Pet Name for the 800 series is the doberman the side image of the cab and long narrow hood! reminiscent of a dobermans head! 🙄
  11. make sure the vents clear anything is possible, fuel return check / drain back valve also can cause this! Drain back is cheaper than the pump if you going to throw parts I would go there first!
  12. Yup A three dressed up As Nine!
  13. Gray or red engine?? Do you have a plugged fuel vent try cracking the fuel cap see if that makes the diffrence! So also Gray or red engine?? RED Injector cup issues if a red engine! MP 7 MP8? If gray faulty fuel supply pump could also be an issue!
  14. At least they tried to use sum genuine parts the white unit had Mack diffs in it!
  15. Be sure you check that your clutch brake is working! If not you would be well advised to remove the clutch cover and check for clutch brake pieces Or you may end up doing this job twice or even three times! Clutch brakes have been known to break and take out speed sensors! Just sayin!
  16. Appears to be an Rd or RB
  17. So You need to find out why its on now See if there are any related engine codes causing a de rate ! also I don't know what kind of work u do However looking a the pic just an observation the turbo appears to have been getting a bit warm indicating a boost leak a split in the after cooler or gaskets as Pro Mentioned! U may have repaired this issue with the things you have already done! You need to see what codes it has logged that MAY reveal more !I agree with Pro It could indeed be a wire issue!
  18. IT is original The first 2 years of E9 Was the same almost primer color salmon brown at one point they did robins egg blue as well! just a little before the 4 valve head was introduced!
  19. Go to the right side of the engine if the turbo has little tin slave cylinder bolted to the bottom it is a waste gated turbo!
  20. Won't likely change your issue ! Having said that I have had good idling engines come in for a cam change due to lifter failure and leave the shop with (a lope )At Idle I was never able to cure this issue so if there are suggestions on this I'm All Ears as well! I'm All Ears as well
