When I moved to my recent house, I changed out the tub faucet to a nicer unit. While in the living room closet(access panel), I found a car license plate used to cover the hole where the pipes came up from the basement. Oh well, who's gunno see it anyway?? I replumbed the softner after moving in also, they didn't include the line out to the garage and I wanted soft water out there as I fill my race trailer from it. I spent 3 nights trying to get that one fitting to NOT leak(solder joint). I gave up and had a buddy come do it. 20 seconds and it was perfect. I have no issues with soldering, but that one fitting was not going to let me do it. I did learn to use MAP gas instead of regular propane for my handy little torch unit. Much hotter and allows you to solder quicker. I helped remodel my sisters house years ago. I plumbed the whole basement (bathroom), near 50 joints overall and not one leak.

The pic of the side of the loader looks to be a couple kickstand style Macks in the backround? DM? with log loaders?

We have a group in Cleveland that is restoring a steam engine that used to run on the Cuyahoga valley line excursion. Midwest railway preservation society? They have a website and I have been to their round house. They are in cahoots with CSX.

Ditto that, I'd like to convert mine over to budds.

Buddy just put a new stack and rain cap on his K100, but with a detroit, you MUST have a flapper. I've wanted to put rain caps on my pipes, but likely won't have enough air to open them both LOL!!! Even with 4" pipes.

You need the whole body? What's wrong with yours? Watts used to offer a paper cartridge version to replace the oil bath type.

I put 50w motor oil in my 6xxx series box. Two years now without an issue. I've heard with the needle bearings, thick grease will not work well especially in cooler climates.

Oh, when I got my license renewed a few weeks back, I took copies of all the crap with me. The girl went to make copies and I told her those were hers to keep. That got a smile(guess I did her job for her). Pretty painless overall and got my new fangle, multi colored license. Four more years til I have to do that again.

We have a local "Microtel" here and it burnt up last summer. The story I got was all the mulch they put around the building was the cause. Sounds plausible.

Remove the little air filter off the side of the compressor and make sure it's not clogged up too bad. It's only a piece of screen if I recall.

They both work, then pay a sitter or such to watch the kids all day. That eats up everything one of them makes so they are back to square one. Endless circle.......

Oil pressure far exceeds water pressure so if the cooler was leaking you would get oil in the antifreeze long before water in the oil. If the leak was bad enough then maybe water would seep into the oil after shutdown, like when there is no oil pressure, but some residual pressure in the radiator.

I put the occasional Power Service in my tank a few times a year. I've heard of the used oil routine, but never did it personally. I think most used to do it just to get rid of it more then help the engine. I used to run Power Service in my dually all winter to help with jell'n. Kept a gallon jug in the bed and splashed some in the tank every fill up.

I knew a guy that owned a corner car lot, he hauled his "race car/hot rod" 1978 Trans Am on an open trailer with NO straps. He would pull it on and put'r in park. Good enough for him!!! He was not around very long and don't know what ever became of him. We also cringed because he put a small block chebby in that Pontiac. Ugh the tragedy.

I'm dying here at work too. I have to go from hot/cold just due to the nature of my work. An hour out in the shop and I'm drenched, then come into my office and try to dry out/cool off. Ugh, but I hate winter worse!!! I did charge the a/c in my pickup last night since I had to drive it today. It doesn't hold a charge but a week or so but at least it is bearable for now. Been trying to trace down the problem, new compressor, new lines, new drier but still leaks off. Used dye and still nothing shows up.

The Chrome Depot in Mantua had a price sheet a few years back for the big radius pipe. I was wanting to put a pair on my truck but just didn't have spare change to spend on it. Not sure if they still offer it(or get it)? When I bought my truck from the towing company, it was the same thing. NO CHROME. Just clean paint. Very industrial looking.

You need to get a chrome pipe like mine had when I bought it. The big radius turn out version that was popular for R's back when. I still have the pipe, it's hooked to a stock muffler and shield(which are new). Like to get a pair of them now for the duals I have on the truck presently. Just money I don't have to waste right now.

I finally put a/c in my race trailer(only thing I own with a/c). I just hate to pay the electric bill at my place with any kind of a/c in it(house or garage).

If it was as sludged up as mine, it took near a summer to get everything cleaned out. I used to get a milkshake out of the tank each trip out. It should have made some kind of noticable difference, but like said it mine have alot of oil in the lines yet. There again, you might have a warranty claim on that rebuild pump too.
