I've been apart of your group for way too long now without a Mack truck, that is until today. I got a 1972 RS700L with a 283 Tipturbine, twin stick 5+2, and a grain box on the back. The owner extended the frame and swapped out the original V8 due to leaking liners and no parts (the door tags are gone so I have no way to confirm this for sure). The 283 engine runs very strong with no blow by and plenty of power! couldn't be happier! Never driven a twin stick so I'm still getting used to that, I just left it in direct the whole drive home but I'd imagine with 750 bushels on the back I'll need em. She drives like a dream! No squeaks or rattles, just smooth even unloaded. I've got lots of questions though! Much more to come!

Dave, Are you aware Perkins sold out? Century Aggregates from Albany bought all the Perkins facilities. Century is Clemente. Clemente came to US from Italy in 1903 -his grandkids run it now. He also started Bonded ready mix in Albany . Check out their website. PS This is my Mack on the scales at Sterling a couple of years ago. this was my post in the ATHS 45th anniversary book. I don't think anybody has any problems at all with people coming here legally, obeying the law, being good citizens in general. But when all the illegals have been just walking across the border freely for the last several years that should be everybody's problem. I'm sure some are good people and I'm just as sure some are absolutely no good, the drug dealers, rapists, robbers, and murderers. And they are only here to take advantage of the system, be it by criminal activity, collecting welfare by false pretenses, or voting for democrats. And you mean that even though these thugs and criminals walked into this country illegally they can't be rounded up and shipped back to wherever they came from legally? Common sense should apply here, but it obviously does not. It's a good thing I'm not king for a day, when I hauled their asses back I wouldn't land the plane, I'd just open the door and say "get out", in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice.🤣

Since it was cold and rainy all day today I couldn't do anything outside for fear of melting. I saw a pretty interesting video on YouTube though. I can't post the link because I watched it on the TV machine, but this was the name of it- This is some town in Missouri, pretty much abandoned, but not completely. Just about five months in storage. Brought the toys out of storage and home today. Weather sucked, but due to schedules and needing two drivers, it was the best time. B73 fired right up after about four turns. A little issue with a sticky starter on the B42, then she fired right off. Now to chase a bunch of gremlins on the Caddy and the '40 Ford, mostly from disuse over the last few years of concentrating on finishing up the B73.

Geoff....no offence (please) some of these bad actors that are here amungst us now are so beyond false credentials and in bed with those who should be enforcing our laws it's sickening. There's huge money being made off so much of these things and in the digital age so much can be covered up at the speed of light. It's crazy what goes on and the number of people willing to "sell out" our country for their own gain or to save their own neck ??? Anyone really believe van halen or whatever his name is really cares about the MD dad ? and don't even try tell'n me if you were broke down alongside the road you wouldn't be uncomfortable if ol MD dad was the only guy to stop if you were alone. MY rights to life , liberty and pursuit of happiness have been trampled on for decades by the same ilk who preach all this nonsense about rights of law breakers.

Hello members, I've been working on the dump box this week. I replaced the sides with some 10ga. I had left over from another job. It worked out well. I am trying to get the B Model ready for a paint job. I think I have the lights figured out and it seems to come down to the switch for the headlights. The Trump administration has referred New York Attorney General Letitia James for prosecution over allegations of mortgage fraud. The referral comes from the Director of the US Federal Housing Finance Agency William J. Pulte, in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. James falsified records so she could get a $218,780 mortgage to buy a home in Virginia in August 2023, just weeks before she prosecuted Trump in his civil fraud trial. James claimed that, despite serving as New York's top law official, it was her principal residence. Also, James bought a residence in both 1983 and 2000 and got her father to co-sign, but listed him and herself as husband and wife. Pulte also cites an earlier case where James bought a Brooklyn residence in February 2001. James consistently misrepresented the same property as only having four units in both building permit applications and numerous mortgage documents and applications. 'While this was a long time ago, it raises serious concerns about the validity of Ms. James representations on mortgage applications. For both properties listed above, James falsified records in order to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms,’ Pulte said. He accuses James of wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to a financial institution.

Any method that doesn't grind is fine. Shifting without any clutch slip can be hard on the splines and damper spring in the disk. when teaching, I get the student to slip the stick into neutral with two fingers then clutch into the next gear. Gets them to understand the process. A lot depends on the ratio jump between gears on what method works best. In my opinion, too many put too much stock in being able to shift without using the clutch. More of a "show-off" thing than any real reason to do so. Mostly I didn't but it depends, I put much more stock in someone who can shift smoothly and without shock or grind then if they use the clutch. Seen a lot of so called driver shift without and grind or shock load the drivetrain, then I have drivers who used the clutch poorly. Pulling heavy on a large hill, speed and smoothness can be the difference between making the shift or coming to a halt or worse, driveshaft on the ground. 170k can be very unforgiving.

Hey Everybody, Here are some pics, lots of work gone in, waiting on new square tanks, still to fit nearly new 5th wheel and finishing up converting all the air fittings to compression fittings, tomorrow fitting rebuilt turbo, stainless exhaust, ceramic coated exhaust manifold and figure out why the wires are cut to the electric cab tilt pump (been using manual as didnt realize it had a electric one). Interior is multi layered sound proofing and marine carpet.

Running unregistered vehicles on the street reminds me of the ATHS National Show in Colorado Springs CO...The host hotel, and meetings, was about 2 blocks from the Arena where the show was held and some of the restaurants were in a strip mall across the street from the hotel.. Golf Carts EVERYWHERE!!!!! I guess the the Police Dept decided it was not worth trying to corral 1000 retired truck drivers on rental golf carts!!!

Headlights installed, Hopefully get the headliner installed week after next, only a few more lose ends, my goal is getting done and taking it to the truck show at the North Carolina Transportation Museum on May 10th . ( Crossed the new bridge to the shop this week, hopefully we can start replacing the walls in a few weeks, Power company came out and marked the spot for the new pole, It took 100 tandem dump truck loads to build back the land that washed away.)

Who is this "we" you speak of? My eyes are wide open and I am quite pleased at the way things are going right now. Not everything is perfect, but I never had expectations of perfection. I certainly do not feel "doomed". It was like we were in a raging river, being swept closer to the plunging waterfall and we finally managed to get ourselves turned around, and now we are fighting against swift currents to get back to calm waters. It isn't easy, but we are heading in the correct direction. The stock market concerns me little, I have no dependency on it whatsoever. My current financial situation is better than it has ever been. I am not worried about the tariffs as I purchase very little that is not produced in the US. Life is good and getting better. The sky is not falling!

That's cause you guys down under are typically engaged in extreme truck'n. Maybe it's not totally dust dust dust. But I but your trucks spend way more time at full power , which equates into way way more air moving through 🤔 everything

(lol) Yes, we're very good at growing national debt, and selling education for Lord knows what.... lawyers to sue for whatever they can get their hooks into. Doctors who can prescribe a pill for anything. This has been going on for decades. Now ? You have to be huge or almost nothing. That in between is a non stop rat race. The government was never supposed to be such a big employer. IDK maybe it's just me who doesn't see the big picture. Certainly seems like in my lifetime though there were more rewards for working hard .
