Air pressure reaching past 150psi

I am having a major issue trying to figure out why I am going way past 150psi. I bypass the drier and I tried endlessly to adjust the air governor with no luck. Can someone please guide me in the right direction.

I'll repeat what has been said in previous threads is to replace that governor. They are not expensive. $12 to $14 bucks.

had same problem.. went past 150..blew out the bottom of the air drier and to get it home ended up burning up the air pump.. total cost $1300 for a $15 part. I keep a spare now.

Cheaper to replace than repair. On a side note, did the safety relief blow on the tank?

is your resevior line plugged? if its plugged the compressor don't know when to unload.

Make sure the feed line to governor is open. If so then replace governor.

I use 2 air gauges-one tapped into the wet tank signal line to the governor and the other tapped into the unloader signal line from the governor. Once the wet tank psi reaches 125-135psi there should be air pressure present on the unloader signal line. If the compressor is still building air psi either the signal line might be plugged or the unloaders are stuck. If no air psi on unloader signal line, bad air governor.

If the wet tank signal line doesn't build air psi its probably a plugged line.

I worked on a Chevy C/60 tandem couple of years ago that someone put the signal line in the bottom of the tank. it was plugged, installed line on top of tank and new govenor had not any problem since.
