  1. Hello, i'm new to this site and was hoping to find some help in diagnosing this problem. I'm a truck mechanic for a concrete company and we have a '08 MACK MRU with MP7 engine that will shut down while driving. All parameters read normal according to VCADS pro tech tool. Engine shut down light appears on the cluster and beeper starts beeping, engine losses power despite full throttle application just before coming to a complete stop the engine shuts off but will restart right away. different codes are retrieved every time, we have replaced the low coolant probe, engine oil pressure sensor, and the engine oil temperature/ level sensor located in the oil pan. We have also traced a maze of wires looking for a short to ground or a broken wire. Any hints? My concern is, this truck is a concrete pump truck, the last thing I need is this thing to shut down while pumping concrete and decide not to restart! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Does anyone have a diagram for the fuse box on a 98 Mack CL 700. I am having some wiring issues and it sure would help if I had a wiring diagram in addition to a diagram of the fuse box.
  4. I HAVE TRIED NEW DASH AFTER I CHECKED ALL GROUNDS EVEN JUMPED GROUND STUD STRAIGHT TO BATTERYS NOT LOOSING ANY POWER I HAVE PERFECT BATT POWER AT 4 DIFFERENT WIRES I CAN NOT FIND ANY WIRING DIAGRAMS FOR THIS CLUSTER CAN ANYONE HELP I NEED WIRING DIAGRAMS TO DIAG FURTHER
  5. I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS TRUCK FOR OVER A MONTH ALREADY AND AM ALREADY ON THE LAST OF MY HAIRS TO PULL. THE COMPLAINT WAS THAT IT WOULD NOT START. THIS UNIT IS A 1992 CH613 WITH A E7-350 ENGINE. BEFORE I WAS CALLED IN TO DO THE WORK OTHER PEOPLE HAD ALREADY TOUCHED THE TRUCK AS WELL. NOT KNOWING AT LEAST SOME OF THE HISTORY IS BAD ENOUGH LET ALONE TRYING TO LOOK FOR PARTS AND SCHEMATICS. I GENERALLY LIKE TO CHRONICLE EVERYTHING I DO ON A TRUCK AS I WORK ON IT AND THIS IS BASICALLY WHAT IVE DONE SO FAR ON THIS UNIT.
  6. I recently purchased 2004 Mack Vision. One night driving the highway, it randomly shut off, forcing me to pull off, half blocking an on ramp. The truck would not restart at first but after about 5 minutes it started up again. When it started the lightening bolt light was on on the dash, and my voltage meter was acting crazy. This has happened about 3 times now. Unless it was just coincidence, the radio also quit working at this time, it would continually light up and turn back off and there was no way to stop it. Anyone know anything about this???
  7. hi i have a 95 mack ch 600 i just bought ,truck has being sitting for about two years ,it has 395 k ,i tried starting it my the key and i just turns over ,so i used starting fluid n starts right up ,checked the electronic stater selenoid and i have power , ground but it wont engade,we check the whole truck and found that my cruise control is on so my pedal wont work , so i cant give it gas ,it starts now but it only rebs up cus of the cruise control ,but i cant turn it off the cruise control ,it reb up about 1400 rpms by using the cruise control ,it is stuck there ,what can i do ,i cant work or anything in stuck
  8. Hi all.I just found this site and I think it's amazing. I live just north of Toronto Canada and I've been trucking since 79. My younger brother introduced me to the trucking world back in '75 when he got a job driving a huge DMM twin steer cement mixer with front drive. The thing was bigger than a house! I was hooked. I started hauling gravel with a 3 axle dump wagon and bought my first new truck in '86,a R model tractor with 350 four valve engine and 8LL Eaton transmission and 417 rears. It ran circles around the then "state of the art 400 cummings". Everyone wanted to know what I had for power. It was a great truck. I've had various other rides since then including a 2000 gorgeous 379 long nose Pete with Cat power. I went back to Mack last year with a '09 CXU613 mp8 with 18sp and 485hp. It has run pretty good but I am struggling with some ecm issues and trying to get used to the dpf system. Pre egr/dpf is a lot less complicated. I now haul around the city hauling a 6 axle cement trailer,grossing 140,000lbs.
  9. Maybe someone can help. I have a '09 Pinnacle CXU 613 that derates everytime I go through slush or a puddle of water. The pto light comes on the dash, I tried to reboot the ecm by shutting the ignition off and restarting the engine but it won't restart as long as the pto light is on. I'm thinking it might be a loose or corroded wire in the harness somewhere. And I thought cats were afraid of water,my mud puppy can't stand it either. Any help on where to look or what wire to rip out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Hello out there. Looking for some help with a Mack MR dual drive refuse truck. The turn signals switches don't work from either side of the cab. I replaced the l/r/ turn signal relay. I swapped the solid state flasher unit with a known good one. Which has power to it. I thought it would be one of these two things as it would affect both sides. I also noticed the amp gauge isn't registering any voltage with truck running or with key in on position. Also the left side throttle pedal isn't working as I switch from drivers side to stand up side it idles down but switch back to drivers side it revs up on its own. May be separate issues but the turn signal issue has thrown me for a loop any suggestions ????
  11. Used as Mobilhome tooter, I hadnt started it for a year or better. Turned on Ins. only dash light that came on is low air. Starts and runs for 3 or 4 seconds and dies, will restart 3 or 4 seconds. Heater fan works, I believe all the fuses are ok. Mack said no power to the ECM "maybe" I have NO paperwork. ANY ideas would be helpful.
  12. Hi everyone. Im new here. First, I want to thank everyone for all the help in the past. There is so much good info on here Ive never had to even register, Ive figured it out from everyones discussions. My issue- I just picked up a 95 Mack CH613 E7-350HP has been sitting several yrs with bad clutch. New batteries got her fired up but it will run for approx 30 seconds and then shut down. Bump the key fires right back up with no hesistation. Can anyone help me? Just to tell all if it helps or not but the "electrical malfunction" light comes on, "brake pressure" comes on during that 30 sec. Also, air will not build ANY pressure, sounds like its leaking in steering column or possibly firewall, sounds more like its bypassing than an air leak because it wont build any psi and then power steering doesnt work at all during run time which probably has nothing to do with it but that it. Shut off and air might be two seperate issues but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
  13. Hi, i need a wiring diagram or fuse box ledgend for my 1996 CH. Its the fuse box in the dash oppisite the passenger seat. I need to know what fuse is what as there is no ledgend on the fuse box cover. They have numbers on them but they dont tell what is what? Thanks. I'm in Australia.
  14. Hi new to the forum and was looking for some tips and guidence for a 1965 Mack I'm getting started back up. It's a 65 C-609T Mack. My question is to do with the battery setup. It had 2 battery trays with two 6volt batteries run in a series to make up 12volts from each tray that runs into a series parallel switch. The starter is a 24 volt starter and all other components run on 12 volt. My question is since the 6volts batteries need replaced can I use two 12 volt batteries one in each tray to replace the two 6volts that were once in both trays ? I'm not certain this will work but wanted to get some opinons or if someone has done this. If the two six volts in series are producting 12v from each battery tray wouldn't one 12 volt work in both trays and be the same setup? thanks, JR
  15. I have a 2011 CHU 613, the headlights quit working, it went from the selector switch not changing from high to low, to now no lights working at all. Tried hooking a a code reader but there is no communication from the truck to the reader. On the truck display says on active fault code #230. And worse of all the damn horn goes off intermittenly now. Anyone had this problem before or have any suggestions? Thanks
