Yeah that is a pretty wild way to move machinery. The pics of my bear hunt that I posted on here are 54 miles upstream of the dam where the lake is ends and it's a river again. Pretty country for sure.

Found this on the web, picture heavy but not much explaining about the pics. The pics are of the entire process from start to finish of building the Hungry Horse Dam and there were a few pics toward the end of the '64 flood which devastated the Flathead Valley. Lots cool machinery and trucks. Hope you guys enjoy it. https://glacierphotography.smugmug.com/344/Vintage/Hungr/i-xjtbWv8

New Zealand to extradite American on industrial espionage charges

That long load is one section of those wind turbines they are putting up all over. -
Make sure you have lots of time, Montana is huge and has so many neat things to see. If you could only do one thing I would suggest the Going to the Sun Road. It's incredible, hours of beautiful scenery with lots of little hikes or big hikes with lots of goats, sheep, bears Marmots and lots more. Glen dive area has a dinosaur park which is self guided through the badlands and fossils are abundant, the hell creek formation near Jordan is world renowned dinosaur dig area as well as the choteau area. I've barely scratched the surface of things to do. If you ever need any help on where to go or what to do in Montana let me know. I will gladly help with what ever I can.

Yes I'm done with the bear hunt now. I have never had any problems with bears except for ones in Glacier Park because they are habituated to people and dumb people feed them making the bears see us as a food source. What little garbage I have is paper plates which get burned everyday. Food is stored in vehicle away from camp or in bear proof container or hanging 10' high and 4' out from a tree which is the law so we don't get problem bears in national forests. As for safety in the tent I have my 338 Winchester magnum with 215grain hornady hand loads in the tent mostly so the gun doesn't get moisture in it or on it from condensation and also my Model 66 357 magnum with 172grain hard cast bullet hand loads as well. It was pretty balmy out Paul, most of the days it got into the 60's and the lowest it got at night was 20 degrees. But I have a helluva good barrel stove right in the middle of the tent that keeps you toasty even when it's -20.

I don't usually use my vacation days in the summer, I save them for use between September and March. That covers upland bird season, waterfowl, bear, deer, antelope and elk season and icefishing. That being said I took the last 10 days off to go pursue a bear again this year with my brother. We made camp right near the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It's in the middle of nowhere just the way I like it with hours of seclusion in nearly every direction. No cell service, just a primitive camp in a 14X16 foot wall tent. Beautiful morning for a hike On the way to the Alpine Number 7 trail Another beautiful hike Some steep country My camp is to the right in the pic about 30 yds from the river A view from the Alpine Trail looking into the Swan Valley. The Swan River is the bottom of the valley In the left corner of the pic Some fun pics under water in Sullivan Creek Got my truck unpacked today and now I've got my feet up relaxing.

A couple of big old Macks!

Very cool. I love the big trucks. -
Wow, neat looking truck. Seems pretty pricey though.

Look at what's been going on in south Chicago for years. The only time it's ever brought up is when liberals want to push for more gun control rather than enforce their already Very strict gun control laws. Like kscarbel said unless it's white on black crime it doesn't matter.

No I specifically stated what I had heard first hand from Canadians and Swedes, no clue about Australia.
-
Yep. Clean looking truck.

The costs maybe lower in other countries but from what I've been told by many Canadians and a couple of Swedes our healthcare is much better. Hell our local radio stations which can be heard in Canada advertise to the Canadians that they can accept their insurance. One of they guys I know from Sweden owns his own business and does well for himself and he flat out told me he comes here for any major medical care. He is a very intelligent man and we get along so well because he's blunt and up front with anything he says. One day while the Ofailedcare was being debated he looks up at me and says "why the hell did you vote someone in who is pushing for socialized healthcare?" I said I didn't vote for him and we had a nice visit about healthcare and politicians. I say socialized healthcare is (in most instances that I can think of BS!) not a good idea. Why should more and more people on the dole get more handouts ( don't forget they already get free medical care ie Medicaid or Medicare) and the working people be forced to buy it? I've posted this elsewhere but I post it again, I challenge anyone to name one thing that the government runs well? Now that you've thought about it do you want those crooks and morons running your healthcare? Remember politicians get a different kind of health insurance and retirement than us peasants do.
-
I'm lucky that my company takes the brunt of the increase but my monthly cost went up, my deductible went up and my maximum out of pocket went up a lot. We will likely never see any real change in the political field in my opinion because being politician is far to lucrative. Politicians are paid far too much by us (and especially lobbyists), guaranteed a big retirement and healthcare different than us common folks so why would they ever make a sound decision for the people? Lobbyist have way too much power. Don't believe me? Watch the documentary Fed Up, it was jaw dropping for me to see how powerful just the sugar lobby is. Can't imagine how powerful other lobbyist are. When we take the mean wage of Americans and that is the salary for the politicians, no retirements, no lifelong health care, no lobbyists then we MIGHT get people who actually want the job take it instead of greedy lifers sucking off the teat of the working average American.

59 cents?! That's egregious! 22 shells are "down" to 16-19 cents a piece here. either way it's a helluva lot cheaper than letting the bastard breathe on our dime.

I hear ya, 14 hr shifts catch up to ya real quick but I still would rather work 3 14's than 5 8 or 9 hr shifts. Love the time off.

good parts men are getting to be a rare breed anymore. Good thing you had your own inventory in stock.
-
No photos?! We can't see it so it does t exist! Have a good one.

No need to worry Paul, Obummer and John Kerry said this is an air tight deal and there's no way that Iran will ever get a nuke.

It's funny that none of the global warming criers never mention facts like this http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamestaylor/2015/05/19/updated-nasa-data-polar-ice-not-receding-after-all/ Unfortunately it's just another profitable business venture that leaves phony, hollow politicians feel good while makin money. Just ask al gore.

Yippie, then Alaska can be a "park" like Montana has become since th 90's when all the Californians moved here and decided to "save" everything.

Oooh, looks good OD! Was planning on smoking a bear tenderloin today but I'll have to dig out my long johns had a hard freeze here last night and it's "warmed" up to 46degrees so far. Have a relaxin', beer drinking day.
