Heck yeah show us some trucks! Welcome to the rabbit hole Mark.

You're a smart well read guy so you know that national parks have long been established so no need to "preserve" more parks. Look at my home state where the Feds are trying a land grab in eastern Montana, hand in hand with hippies who want the farm and ranchers gone and buffalo put in there place. Then in the same general area there are hundreds of thousands of acre proposed to be "wilderness area" which simply means you and I John Q Public get shut out of the area like they've done with ALL of western Montana. Oh and Did I mention I n the very same area the "wilderness" is being proposed there is already a huge game preserve (Charles Marion Russel Game Preserve)? Google the Don't Buffalo Me campaign if you think I'm full of it. I don't condone violence but I will say I have an understanding of where they're coming from. How much more public land needs to be closed off? How much more private does the government need? How many more "wildernesses" that most people will never see unless they have a week off and horses to get to these now secluded places since the roads get closed? There certainly are special places that need protected but at this point we have them covered.

I heard on a talk radio show today that the government wants that piece of ranch land (privately owned property) to control irrigation, oil and natural gas in the area. The ranchers by no means are angels but it seems they are being targeted by the government for refusing to sell the land to hem for years now. No I can't site sources specifically but it was compelling to listen too. Another reason the turd in office wants our guns, we're easier to "govern" once we are unarmed.
-
He is such an ignorant turd. Think of the implications of letting doctors report to the government (fbi only for now) your personal info. Where does it stop? Why won't any politician say if we actually ENFORCED the laws that already exist and make prison a miserable hard labor experience not a place to earn a degree and or deal drugs that we wouldn't need stricter gun laws that only effect law abide my citizens.

Fortunately for us poor buggers up north snow bunnies need the white stuff to flourish in their natural high timber habitats.

Don't engage them while spinning, in the mud when you have everything locked in use the Jake brake to help you turn. Turn your wheels in the direction you want to turn and let off the throttle so the jakes come on. This will pull your front end over. With a little practice and finesse you don't lose much momentum and you herd the truck where you want it to go. Obviously this should only be done at relatively low speeds. Good luck.

Yeah the tree pics were in western MT. I spent quite a bit of time visiting family during Christmas. It was -15 when I left for work this morning.

A big ol' compressor engine with hungry bovine behind it. A couple of views of the sunset from my office. A neat old vac truck next to a crappy one. A couple of pics mountain lion hunting.

Uh out! Yarnall had the brown bottle flu! Get well. Happy new year.

Had to drive back home last Sunday night so I could work Monday and then back over the pass to spend tues-Friday with my family. Grampa had this picture of the log truck hanging in his house and here are a couple snow pics too. Been snowing everyday. My uncle and I are going to take the hounds out and try and run a lion tomorrow. Have a good one. Old gasoline sign painted on building in Kalispell

It's finally getting cold enough so he could be hibernating.

Jay Leno's Garage - 1942 Dodge Power Wagon Restomod
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
I love that style of power wagon. Always wanted to drop a hopped up 12 valve Cummins in one. -
[quote name="PeterMack" post="317499" timestamp="1451169849You're right but the reality is unless there is a miracle we are going to deal with Hillary and she's just as bad.

Wow 70 degree Christmas?! No thanks bring on the snow!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays with their loved ones. I worked Christmas Eve and got up yesterday morning to drive back "home" to visits my family. The pass was beautiful. Notice how there are two delineator posts stacked on top of each other so the road crew can find the road when I really snows.

Few More pre WWII Macks

Love the armored truck and the trailer on that beer truck. It has some beautiful lines. Why does that sleeper cab truck look like it has jail bars in the Windows? -
Looks Like Nobody's Making Extra Christmas Money This Year
HeavyGunner replied to fxfymn's topic in Odds and Ends

She's got my vote. Merry Christmas

They also have another crew or set of trucks that I see quite often with Titans but never got a pic yet. There's an outfit called Greenberry that just built a yard a couple of years ago by Santa Rita and they build mega loads to go up to the tar sands in Canada. They literally are wider than a 2 lane highway and the powerlines were moved to 30' high where they crossed the highway. Their location is only 25 or so miles from the border and I got flagged to pullover to wait for on of those loads to pass. Long story short after more than an hour of waiting the load went by and it was a push pull type set up with a 3rd truck (semi tow truck) pushing as well. There's a steep little hill and from the ruts, yes I said ruts left in the pavement I could see where the powered out and couldn't get started and just dug into the asphalt. When the 3rd truck got them moving there is literally 1-2" deep ruts over the hill where that lead truck was pourin' the coals to her.

I guess I would've told the nurse and Doctor to kiss my ass in those exact words. Like the saying goes, "In country where you can own guns you are a citizen, in a country where you can't you are a subject". I certainly don't agree with everything they say or do but the NRA is the ONLY group fighting tooth and nail day in and day out for our gun rights. I would encourage every red blooded citizen to support them if they can.

Love those aftermarket grills that look like the jeep has an evil scowl.

Ford finally puts its 3.0 V-6 diesel in the F-150
HeavyGunner replied to kscarbel2's topic in Odds and Ends
There's an oil outfit here that bought a bunch of the dodge half ton diesels and so far love them. They claim they are getting around 20mpg in the oil patch and high twenties on the highway. But like it was said earlier new pickups are EXPENSIVE and even more so with a diesel. I just picked up a very clean 96 Ford F-350 4 door long bed with a 460 in it for $3500.00 and the money I save compared to buying a new one buys a helluva lot of gas. -
Easy now Rowdy, I think all teamstergrrrl meant was elogs have been around for a long time so there is a pretty big pool of drivers who will not notice the change since they already use elogs. Now that being said I do understand your point and completely agree with you. These new laws and regulations just seem to weed out more and more owner operators and that sucks. Competition in a capitalistic economy is a good thing and he government shouldn't impede that by over regulation.

Use those boxes that you put poisin into that only rodents can get into. That's what I do so my dogs don't eat em..
