  1. I’d re-rail it, the truck is bought and paid for (I’m assuming) and $10000 is far cheaper than a new plastic-y truck with the emissions crap. Heck just having to replace/fix the emissions crap can cost $10k or more. If you like the truck I’d fix it and keep it. Just my opinion though.
  2. Come on paul you know the 4 wheelers that cause 99% of crashes are never the problem.
  3. I wouldn’t do business with someone who has a no return for any reason policy.
  4. That’s priceless.
  5. I feel for ya OD, I had def problems and had to get turned around before the truck derated me even more than I already was (I was loaded). Most of hwy 2 has 0-2ft of shoulder and turn a rounds (whistle stop towns) are 6-25 miles apart. I came up to a small town of probably 400 people and was praying that I'd guess the right roads that were not plugged up with cars on both sides, dead ends along with all of the snow. Thankfully I got lucky and picked the right street but I always hate that sinking feeling in my gut when I don't know if I'm choosing a through street or getting into a mess. Drive safe.
  6. That makes more sense to me now. I thought it wouldn't mover until the stall rpm was achieved and I was picturing it being grabby and jerky if you were trying to simply accelerate and not taking off with a lead right foot.
  7. Huh, I had no idea. I've never driven anything (that I know of) with a stall, does the vehicle not move until you get to whatever rpm the stall converter is rated for?
  8. I just got off of the phone with blueprint engines and after going over all of the specs of my pickup they suggested the aluminum head roller cam, 383 430hp 450ftlb with a 2000 stall. They said this is the most popular combo they sell for pickups and I wouldn't hardly notice the stall.
  9. Good to know. Have you ever dealt with Bradford & Sons over your way? I've heard decent things but don't really know much about them.
  10. Must be the program they use in ALL of the DD15’s 😂
  11. Very neat stuff. Thanks for sharing.
  12. I do the 4oz of hot water, 1-1 1/2 shot(s) whiskey, tablespoon or so of honey and lemon juice. Like vlad said it helps you sleep, keeps the coughing at bay and clears you up a bit and kills the headache. Get well soon, I had the flu already and then the nastiest 24hr bug I’ve ever had and hope it’s a long long time before I’m sick again.
  13. That one of those rigs to pick up derailed box cars?
  14. I’m trying to find a good mix of fun and some work. It’s a k20 with 35” tires th400, being that it has a lift in it I have no intentions of pulling my 5th wheel with it but I certainly will use it to move my tractor around or haul lumber etc. I’m trying to gain as much info as possible before I buy an engine and thank you guys for your input. I didn’t see any tq curve charts on the website for those engines. I suppose I’ll have to call them like Paul suggested and see what we can come up with.
  15. I’d love to go with a giant big block Paul or that sweet little R2.8l but both of those are out of the question simply because of price.
  16. Looking to replace the engine in my pickup. So far I've liked what BluePrint Engines has to offer. You can get a balanced and blue printed 383 420-430hp 450ftlbs for well under 4 grand with a 3 year 30mi warranty. Any of you guys have any suggestions of people/companies you've dealt with that make something similar to these? On a side note these engines all say somewhere in the description that an 1800rpm-2400rpm stall is suggested. I didn't have a stall converter on my last engine in the truck (warmed up vortec 350) and it seemed to motivate the truck just fine so I really don't see why I'd need one with an engine putting out way more torque. Is the stall converter for hot rod and drag applications for launching in the power band rather than practicality?
  17. Kenworth turned up the Cummins I had in it above what he transmission was rated for no questions asked. They gave me he facts and said here's a waiver if you'd like the upgrade. Truck had lots of power mileage was a little better and nothing got destroyed because common sense was used. If you want to do something with your truck that you payed for and its not under warranty you should be able to in my opinion.
  18. Happy birthday Paul. I always enjoy the knowledge you share. Have a good one.
  19. First off any color you paint a superliner it'll look good. Not that my opinion matters but I think it'd be really cool to have it match your b, especially if you showed up to a truck show with your Superdog in tow behind your b 😀
  20. Not to mention that illegals are a huge voters base for the democrats. I'm not being sarcastic either, remember the dems voted more than once the last few years that it was unconstitutional to require voters to show any form of state ID before getting to vote. Sounds pretty straight forward to me.
  21. Did you try Ali Arc? Not as heavy built but may have one for a Mack.
  22. We run herd bumpers on all our trucks, very sturdy and look very nice.
  23. All very true. Like I said in another thread on bmt today I am grateful I’m not an owner operator.
  24. I’ve been sitting at a diesel repair shop for 3 hours now because of “def dosing” problem. Not sure whether it was a froze def line or a chunk blocking the line. I’m very greatful I’m not an owner operator.
  25. There is a Sears kit house outside of town near me. It looks very fancy for its day, it even has a bank of waist high glass batteries for the oldest wind tower generator I've ever seen. It has a wood/coal fired furnace, 2 stories over a basement and had two little decks on the second floor. About 20 years ago the house was definitely in good enough shape that it could've been usable. The people who own it told every local that commented on what a shame to let that house sit there and deteriorate that they could have the home. Most thought they cut a fat hog when they heard they could have a free house until they figured out the cost to move it.
