From a real world stand point how would you ever do a pre or post trip inspection? Right now I’m fighting ice (sometimes 12” thick in places) sticking to my truck and trailer and it’s a pain. I couldn’t imagine how that truck could function anywhere other than warm climate and flat geography.

Maybe he was kidnapped by some evil temptresses aka winfall wimmins.

I do use the internet a lot but even though amazon say free 2 day shipping it never gets here in two days. That coupled with not having a shop means I don’t start anything that I don’t think can be completed in an afternoon or so because of winds blowing dirt into everything.

Even back then they had to put warning signs on the back of trucks to keep other drivers from doing stupid things. Hmm, maybe things haven't changed that much

IN '01 or 02 I had just got done hauling a lot of local cattle up to browning for summer pasture in late May or early June. Well no longer did everyone get their cattle up there it snowed 4 feet over a day and a half, killed lots of cattle then rained 5 or so inches and flooded like hell. I've seen snow (might not have been much) every month of the year.

This was highway 223 Monday. I had to wait 30 min or so for the road to get opened back up.

The Cleveland highway been closed for the last 3 days because of mega drifts. Just opened late this morning. Roads are blowing shut as fast as they open them here in the flatland.

Was it rolled? If so has the frame been checked out professionally? The outfit I work for bought a rolled truck and supposedly it was good to go but we fought bushings in the suspension going out often and it ate tires up real fast. Also could do an oil analysis, that might even tell you if it ran too long on its side or upside down and starved parts of the engine for oil. I'm certainly no expert but those are things I'd be worried about.

Whites are excellent logger boots made in Spokane Washington. They will custom make them to you foot if you want or go pick them off of the shelf. I wear the 10" smokejumpers. Excellent boot that's gives me tons of ankle support and keep my back from getting sore when I work on cancrete surfaces. They are spendy but I usually get 4 or 5 years out of them wearing them everyday before I send them back for a rebuild. So a quick update. I made the deal on a vortec engine. It's the 5.3l was built, broke in then did some dyno pulls then stripped down to a long block. Yes I would've liked to buy a 383 but the price was right on this engine ($1600) so I figured it has way more snort than a stock 350 so I pulled the trigger. It has the 6.0l cam in it which Gm suggested to this guy for the build. Now the big question is what efi system do I put on this or should I just forget about it and put my carb and intake off of my other engine on it? I've been looking at the different self learning efi kits and like everything the price goes from mild to wild. Anyone out there have any experience with th aftermarket efi kits? Here's the ad and it gives you a fair idea of what the engine build is.

Vlad could speak to this better than I I'm sure but I remember hearing or reading that Russia had similar gun laws. The remote villagers could own shotguns hitch enabled them to hunt birds to bears depending on which shells were in the gun.

No that dirt bag didn't care who he shot or why but outlawing something just because some scumbag used it for something bad makes no sense either. Opioids (prescription heroin basically) kills far far more people every year than guns yet we only here a blurb for a week or two about doing something about it and then it ends. Deaths where Alcohol is a factor kills far more people a year by a long shot than guns but no one is crying to outlaw it. Deaths where cars are involved some accidental some purposefully kill more than guns but no one wants to outlaw them. Instead of blaming a tool blame the human and make them pay dearly. Paul had some very interesting statistics he posted last year off of the governments website and it shows fewer homocides by gun from decades ago until now especially when you took suicides out of the total count since they are not homocides. i said in another post that I could give a crap if they banned AR's, they aren't the ultimate platform for hunting like they been pushed. The only real use I have for them would be for home defense but I've got a 590 A1 9 shot shotgun for that duty. My only fear with budging on letting the democrats take away any gun that is legal today is the truth is they won't stop there. As soon as AR's are gone then they will go after semi automatic pistols, then semiautomatic shotguns and they will go on and on until we have nothing to defend ourselves with. Why does the whole country have to be punished because our justice system refuses to enforce laws that already exist? Did you know there are over 20000 gun laws on the books already? Everytime I buy a new gun I go through an fbi background check? Just like the massive war zone Chicago has become because no one will enforce the laws or push to use tactics (that work) like stop and frisk in bad areas because they're more worried about being career politicians.

Again it pisses me off that no one seems to give a shit how badly all of the different law enforcements agencies screwed up. Where is all the uproar for the people the citizens of this country PAY to keep us safe not doing their job? Look how well gun control has worked for shitcago and dc, oh wait that's right the highest murder rates in America happen where guns are all but outlawed but let's not let facts get in the way of the democrats agenda.
