  1. Uh oh.... sounds like your in Daryl Gushee territory. Looking forward to observing your new adventure. I saw the truck on CL and thought it looked good with nice specs. I have no use for the tank or pump so I would have to remove to make a tractor out of it with wet line. Typical deal no extra money for another toy and no room to store. Keep us posted. Jim
  2. I just asked the question with the picture of the Ford pumper and here is the answer! What a deal. From the pics on CL, it looks pretty good!
  3. Did you buy the white Superliner pumper out of Plymouth, MA from CL? It looked pretty good.
  4. Well...it must have been a dream because I can't produce pics. I go to the scale yesterday and figure to give and get a Merry Christmas. I pull in and am greeted by a guy. He tells me that she only needed a couple more credits for graduation and she was gone at the end of the semester.
  5. Make the truck look tougher with a set of Autralian Roo bars.
  6. Welcome! Both trucks look great. What are the specs? Did you get the Superliner from Joseph Equipment?
  7. There is a gravel operation near me that has a scale. I try to go through after 2 pm on Tues. or Thurs. when the blonde college girl is working. She is very easy on the eyes, 5'4" tall and probably 98 lbs soaking wet. Go figure... Makes life interesting and fun!
  8. Yeah Paul, That "little" Mack you want is going to need permits for everything! Plus, it isn't going to fit in your stocking...
  9. Doing a rough calculation (real rough) to maintain 65 mph with 22.5 would need to up the rpm about 100. The tire size change would give a lower effective gear ratio which would help getting started. If it was mine would probably leave it alone.
  10. What rpm are you turning now at 65 mph loaded? What style of wheels Daytons or Budds? If you change to 22.5 from 24.5 you will have to change the hubs if you are running spokes.
  11. Hope Moma is warming up to the new addition to the family. Or are you still on the couch?
  12. Hey! Do you have permit for hauling scrap around? DOT is everywhere. Have fun and don't get stuck.
  13. Lamborghini also made farm tractors.
  14. Looks Fantastic! I see that it has changed from spokes to aluminum wheels. What else has been changed or modified from original? How many miles? What are the basic specs? Thanks for sharing pictures . Jim
  15. The million Superliner went to Yarmouth Lumber in ME so it is close to Pelletiers.....too close. I haven't been that way in a long time so I don't know what is going on but I have a feeling it is no longer around.
  16. That is the one I am talking about. It has a little clearance for the timing gear cover. Look straight down at the crossmember that goes from side to side and it should look different. I needed a crossmember for my B75 and took it out of a B61 so I think we are talking apples to apples. The round collar at the balancer then bolts to this crossmember. Jim
  17. If this is the mount right at the balancer, there should be a notch to give some extra room for the timing gear cover on the front of the motor. When looking straight down at the crossmember you will see it is slightly different side to side. Jim
  18. Interesting picture and details. Most of the wrenches I have collected are Billings or Williams with the "Mack" on them in script. The hammers and pliers don't say anything than 'Mack". Some of them are the "S" style wrench. A couple of screwdrivers have wood handles and the Mack is on there with some sort of ink stamp in script. I think most of mine are from the E model or early L, late 30's to 40's.
  19. Signal Stat has a tail light that looks almost identical and can be had at better parts stores. Jim
  20. Pretty sure it doesn't make any difference which is black or white for wiring it up. I know that there is the correct way to wire with ground, neutral and power but for this it should be ok. As mentioned, more than likely you will find that it is junk and will have to be replaced. I would probably do a quick wire up and test it with some jumper wires to see if it works before you wire it up to the headlight panel.
  21. Did anyone determine the power on this rig? Sort of looks like the there is an exhaust pipe on the outside of the frame rail behind the right front tire. V8? Jim
  22. All the B80 series have the square construction style fenders and very heavy cast radiator. Exception of course are fire trucks like B85. This truck has the cast aluminum radiator, standard round fenders and extended hood which make this a B73, 75, 77 depending on engine. After a while Mack model numbers will make sense.......I think! Jim
  23. Very nice score! Nice big light in the last picture. Was it with the truck when it was a fire truck? Before Wendy kills you, take her out for a nice dinner and see if she changes her mind. Might work???
  24. The driveshaft on the tunnel truck must be all of 12 inches!
  25. I don't think anyone will have one new ready to install. I had to take mine out and took it to a radiator shop where they measured the size of the core. A new core was ordered and the ends soldered back on and tested. My core was pretty bad, if you have just a small hole that leaks, might be repairable. I had to take the hole unit out to get the core out but my B has the L cab. Don't recall at the moment about the standard cab.
