  1. Can see the two trucks and trailers but it also looks like a third trailer further behind. Very impressive convoy if it was three running together. Heck, two is impressive also!
  2. Maybe the guy that is trying to make himself a "Duck" truck posted looking for one?
  3. The middle picture showing the one owned by George Tackaberry has insane miles on it. Last time I knew it was still under 1,000 original miles. Just crazy!
  4. Plum Island isn't too far away.
  5. About the Allis Chalmers Big Als, I got after 3 years of negotiating, a 450 H.P. AC powered AutoCar DC that will be coming home is April. Hey Paul! That is excellent news! You will be the only kid on the block with a Big Al. We do expect pictures. Jim
  6. Excellent find! Any idea what killed the original motor with so few miles? Head rings?
  7. Yup, odd looking for sure. Wait, I just figured it out....it is so the driver's feet will get a nice suntan as he is wearing flip flops going down the highway.
  8. I saw a gasser R model a long time ago. It seemed like the valve covers barely made it to the top of the frame rails! Maybe a little more but not much. With the brochures posted, it must have been a R410 because the engine was a Mopar 413 CID. I don't remember actually looking at the door for the model number or the door may have been gone. Jim
  9. You can buy service manuals off flea bay that will have eletrical diagrams. Also, go the the wiki section by clicking on the toolbar above the banner ad. Then go to antique info and then go to an R model wiring diagram that is posted. Most stuff will be the same between R and DM that it should help you out. Jim
  10. How common was the big back window on the F model? I sure don't remember too many.
  11. Nice! Sooooo...which is it? Is it hauling water or diesel fuel?
  12. Hens teeth if you are looking for new. Best I can say is out of a donor cab. My recollection is that the cab end for the left side is spot welded to the dash flange. The right side is a bolt in. May want to try Pfahl Mack and/or Old Mack Trucks both have the banner ads on this forum. It will just depend on who wants to cut the dash to get the parts out. Jim
  13. I recall that Brockway as being a Detroit V-12 and I am pretty sure that I saw it at the Macungie show in the last 2 or 3 years (or so).
  14. Prefer the US version of the Superliner. I understand the concept and need for the high intakes on the trucks over there, but GAWD Damn they look ugly to me! Jim
  15. Nice Rig! I don't recognize that name but could be it. It has only been since 1988 since I was done that way? My recollection is that the building had the look of an old time car dealership which the truck company took over. Talked to the owner for a while and he was telling me how Chalmers rubber block suspension was the best thing he had ever run on his dump trailers. He then bought some pneumatics brand new and had Heil put the Chalmers blocks in them and almost destroyed them when running empty. Before the new Heil's become total junk, he sent them off to have Neway air installed. To this day, it amazes me how different NJ is from north to south!
  16. Wasn't there a dry bulk cement hauler/trailer dump operator in the Vineland area that had a number of Macks?
  17. After checking around, Nashua is turning themselves into a logistics business. So being a broker, they will probably get rid of some equipment but maybe not all? If anyone hears something, please post. Jim
  18. Great pic and truck! Hmmmm.......pea stone as erosion control. Was that a project given to a first year civil engineer student? Jim
  19. I have been told that Nashua has folded which made me think this was one of their old rigs.
