    Next faster would be a 3.86 might be hard to find, I would go with a 12 spd. overdrive T1070 trans, with 4.17 rears you will turn about 1750 rpm at 70 mph. terry

    I wasn't telling which way to go on the seals, most people don't there are two seals till they get them apart. terry

    A lot of people don't realize some of the old macks had two wheel seals on each wheel, hand packed in bearing grease for the inner bearing, and the the outer run in gear oil. With a seal between them, most people would remove the outer seal and run both bearings in oil. Don't know if it takes a different inner seal then. terry

    As you look at the front of carrier there is a flat spot to left of input shaft, wire brush this area should be a set of numbers of ratio. terry

    If you look at the rear suspension it is a real old set up, the inverted camelback not used since about 1970. Also not a 38.000 rear ,but a 34.000

    I would bet the drag links are the same, unless one had a really bigger axle. You would never use them 7.00 ratio rears terry

    Definitly a DM frame, must be a pretty early engine or whole running gear, has the old belt driven power steering pump. terry

    That is a B733 has a cummins with a triplex.

    You will have alot less down time with a truck like that! Besides easier to work on.

    If you are talking both 107 series trannys, they are the same except the 12 spd. has two lower creeper gears. terry

    No. If you have shifted a mack 5 speed you can shift a 12 speed.
