  1. I might be wrong but I suppose the longer ones are for an R-model and the shorter ones do a B. When I purchased such lock set for my R they were quite long. But I don't have them handy to measure sorry.
  2. Looks really nice. As new or even better. Did you custom order those decals? Would be cool if you ask the folks for more reproductions since I was going to draw them myself and order the prints. I sure would be eager to cover up the expenses.
  3. There were two kinds of that grille. The ones you could see on later R-RD-RB were flat stampings bolted onto the chassis mounted air cooler as mentioned above. When you open the hood the grill rests on the radiator assembly. The F-model grill was another story. It was stamped together with its framing and was attached to the cab front panel. Same style was used on Eastern R700 serie. Can't tell the reason but it goes out together with the hood when you open it. The vertical bars you see on earlier R's is a shutters assembly.
  4. Good thing you was able to step back into the lane. Life goes, different but its own way.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving BMT!
  6. Drove both that ways and can tell there's nothing extraordinar to admit relating to such clowns driving over the Moscow loop.
  7. Can't tell about the cranberry but blueberry pie was absolutely amazing.
  8. This was my first turkey eaten on Thanksgiving. Many thanks to our fellow member for inviting me and keeping seized until I got absolutely full of And the photo doesn't show the true size of that angry bird. Looking at it it appears huge. In real it was twice more huge than it appears
  9. Wow! Seems like there's always a pool to step into. Didn't drive much today. Now safe and sound at home.
  10. I doubt many folks will be found eager to bring their well kept $20K but something like 2-2.5K could save that rare creature from further abondoning or rotting away and than scrapping.
  11. Bad thing I have read this only now. Got NJT one more time today, Gons N Roses would work fine.
  12. The BMT crue is the greatest people! Thank you for invitation Randy, PM sent.
  13. Saw this beast today. She was getting out from NJ Turnpike. Couldn't make a bettet catch. One really distinguished point I saw - the sunvisor was painted light green.
  14. Do you come back after the end of the week?
  15. Thank you, put on the list. For a summer
  16. Right at the moment in Fair Lawn NJ at my friend's place. But the facility I have affairs with locates in New Brunswick which is quite close to you. So no problem to me to show up for a cup of coffee (or longer) during the weekend.
  17. Been there done that Yes, made a trip to Va this past June right after Macungie show. Also catched many local roads along East sea coast on my way there. The musuem collection is far beyound of what you can express with words (at least using my English skills). The trucks are fewer in number but every example worth alot of attention.
  18. Wow! Seems very interesting. And not far from my basic location. The site tells they open the doors Fr-Su. And on Th during summer only. Good place to get on weekend.
  19. I happened to drive through but it was dark and rainy so I saw absolutely nothing. Ok, good idea, put it on the list. Thanks.
  20. Nice place but I checked in there this past June. Looks like my geography should be spread wider, too many nice places are already seen.
  21. Thank you for the ideas guys. America On Wheels was on my mind. I checked their web site and looked like they work all the week excepting Monday. Even Thursday marked as a working day. Gary Mahan's collection is a great place to see no doubt. But I was lucky checking it out in the past.
  22. It has happened that my current affairs got me to New Jersey. Some used BMW spare parts go to Russia on a constant basis but lots of come broken and so. The recipient wasn't happy with the fact and knowning my addiction to everything used and rusty plus my experience visiting the US made me an offer for a inspection voyage. Actually I was paid for the plane tickets having a week to spend for reasons I want. So so far I'm at my friend's place in NJ. Unfortunately he's going to departue to Mexico for vacation with a family and I have a feeling of potential nothing to do. This kind of situation is not typical to me and I already started building plans for the nearest few days. Going to visit Matt Pfahl's shop on Tuesday. The further part of the week needs more work out and taking to account Thanksgiving on Thurthday I found myself open for ideas. What would you guys recommend me to visit in the area of NY-NJ or Easter PA? I even look for a chance to keep anybody's company to put hands on an old Mack truck if someone is going to spend the long weekend in his shop. No income interest, just involvement and accomodation.
  23. I think that's one reasonable solution in your case. To be honest I also felt some "back thoughts" seeing you building a rat rod of the NR. But thinking more I realized 1st you have 3 trucks and used only one for the project. 2nd what you actually use is just a L-model (aftermarket to the NR!) closed cab and front parts such as hood, grille and fenders. And 3rd and the main - that's your truck so your way to do whatever you like
  24. Paso, (do I do correct calling you this way?) Looks like you're going to make a fast rat or hot rod from those blue body parts. What kind of chassis do you use to install the cab on? Of what I see as a potential imperfection I'd look for some different (larger/wider/brighter?) wheels. Those big 11.00-24 Mack tyres make it look as a really huge machine. And I like it. In fact I had to even install 12.00R24 having no chances for the less size stock 11.00-24 tyres. If you see nothing wrong with that I will definitely keep your offer about the drive train in my mind. The most of my mechanical needs seem covered up at the moment but some Lanova parts are quite scarce to purchase. I have possibilitis to ship heavy stuff from New Jersey state so in theory your old iron might find a way to my place. Once again, no real plans at the moment. If I have something particular in my mind on the matter I will PM you. Thanks, Vlad
