  1. UPDATE: Struck out at the local salvage yards. I been told the Mack replacement tank may not have the correct ports and/or locations. So the search is still on for a good steel or aluminum RH dual compartment tank.
  2. The RH steel air tank on my MH has a leak caused by rust under the support strap. The tank has two compartments. The approximate tank size is 12" dia X 16-1/2" length (welded seam to seam). The overall length would be about 19". I would like to find an aluminum tank as a replacement but open to anything that is in good condition. I can get a new one from Mack but $3xx. I am also going to check a couple local truck salvage yards to see if I can "match" one from another truck brand.
  3. Thanks Dave for all the great pictures from Oregon. See you in Macungie.
  4. Willie, I see you are in Virginia. In addition to Macungie, an excellent show is the ATHS Tri-State show in Winchester, VA September 22-24, 2016. As others have stated, Macungie is about (two) 2 hours northeast of Carlisle, just southwest of Allentown. Trucktoberfest will be in September (typically) at the Mack Museum in Allentown. Barry's (Watt's) show is August 20th at New Alexandria, PA.
  5. Like Mike, not impressed with Carlisle truck show. I attended two (2) years ago and will not be back. If you are a "wanta be" big rigger, then perhaps you should go. Attend Macungie (June) or other "truck club" shows instead.
  6. Posting information on the 2016 ATCA Keystone Chapter show July 22-24 in Martinsburg, PA. This is the third year at the Park and each year is getting better. It has expanded to three (3) days with setup starting Friday noon. There are hotels in the Altoona area which is about a 30 minute drive from Martinsburg. Attached are the program guide, poster, registration form, and vendor form. Hope to see you there. 2016_brochure-3.pdf 2016_poster-2.pdf 2016_registration-2.pdf 2016_vendor_card-2.pdf

  9. "Back in the day", people with mental issues were in mental institutions under 24/7/365 care. Now most of the institutions are closed. My late mother spent most of her working career as a LPN taking care of mental patients.
  10. Paul, I do rotate stock.....rarely but occasionally. Latest item will be my 2011 HHR.
  11. Personally I prefer to find vehicles in excellent original condition. I will pay extra for originality and condition. I tend to shy away from restored vehicles unless the seller has documented before and after pics, list of parts/items replaced, and who did the work. Repaints with overspray and rattle can touchups turn me away. When I sell a vehicle (personal car, tractor, etc.), I have a list of maintenance, parts, service repairs, etc. that I show the potential buyer. I am surprised when some get "turned off" with those details.
  12. Glenn, Are you using IE11? Same issue with me, can't copy/paste nor quote.
  13. This truck was consigned to an auction in Shippensburg, PA. The auction was yesterday (Friday December 18th). Did anyone attend? Did it sell? Price?
  14. When you hear the "hissing", check to see if it is coming from the dryer.
  15. Looks like a CAT part number 4B....
  16. Paul, I was thinking the same thing. Yardo needs to move his FWD to the station and have Mike put his trucks in there too.
  17. Tim, I had at least four (4) boxes of moth balls in the MH and the little ba$tard$ still managed to chew wires, paper towels, and ruined my ultra rare Mack Ultraliner jacket. Sum beaches! Currently I have moth balls, Fresh Cab (pine scent), dryer sheets, sticky boards, pb baited spring traps, and poison blocks placed inside the MH, car, and pickup. I have the bases covered. I removed the sleeper mattress from the MH and also placed paper items in plastic storage containers. I read mice do not chew plastic.
  18. Looks good. Too bad it does not come in an aeresol can (for us novices).
  19. I put TomCat bait blocks in the sheds and builds, only to have something eat the entire block in one evening. I did this for a week but each night the blocks disappeared. Finally I decided to forget it....getting too expensive. It is either a BIG mouse or some other critter. My guesses are skunk or fox. Mice are pulling material from one of the my cars parked in the shed. Built a nest in the engine shrouding of my garden tractor, would overheat and shutdown. They also like to build nests in the car air intake box.
  20. PLN - pump line nozzle (fuel injection pump with lines connecting the pump to the injectors). Typical fuel injection system used on most early engines except Detroit Diesel which used unit injectors (UI).
  21. Once you get it off, there will likely be a narrow "lip" on the inboard side of the drum.
  22. That is the pine scented "crap in a bag". Worthless. Dang mice chewed the paper flap on top of the pouch and crapped all over the dryer sheets.
  23. A BIG hammer or a hungry cat? Let me know (post it here) if you or anyone knows of a sure way to keep mice out. Just hope they do not start chewing wires. I too have tried mothballs, Irish Spring soap, pine scent, and dryer sheets. Set traps but so far nothing. I am sure the critters are in there somewhere.
