  1. I have not seen 44 rears set up with soft bushings before but I can see it would not be to bad with a good set of polyurethane bushings if your not loading heavy regularly and maxing out the trunion shaft is the same diameter for the 38 and 44 but the axle housings can be heavier for the 44,000 check the rear right side of the housing for number code stamp for the axle housing rating

He drives this model T and the model A around town daily they get used a lot always good to see him coming down the road
  3. Try John Chalmers 717-334-8709 Cashtown PA. he is in your area is super knowledgeable and has a lot of hard to find parts he should know of anything in existence and if you need anything else from a 711 I have a parts engine for spares
  4. The 864 was finished in 1972 and the ET 1000 did not come out until 1978 so a look at the numbers is important but it all looks good

Helping a friend this weekend put the rear end back in a good ford A model sure is nice to see how all of this is engineered it’s amazing what worked a hundred years ago and it still works great
  6. Just forward of the starter on the edge of the block above the oil pan is where the identification numbers are stamped I think cab over engines were stamped at the right rear
  7. It doesn't look bad so I would say they should be able to cut it realign and weld it back up sometimes the housing will get twisted bad enough that it becomes very difficult to get the differential in and out especially back in just another thing to check before repair or replace decision is made.
  8. It looks like the Spindle is bent where it is attached to the axle housing I have seen them bent before the older ductile iron housings had a replaceable spindle press fit with a retaining bolt on the back of the housing but all of the others are welded it can be repaired or replace the housing.
  9. Just got a message from the local ATHS that the truck show in Cherokee tomorrow just got moved to 1501 Acquoni Road Cherokee for what ever reason
  10. Thanks for the truck driver point of view on these things some of us who have never driven do not know these interesting things about trucking if you work on the sidelines its hard to imagine how it all works as a mechanic its not always easy to figure out the drivers point of view
  11. was just checking how did the electric B mod project come out
  12. I only remember them as part of the econodyne series especially the 440 hp dont know of any maxidyne E9 but its possible the higher hpE9 was classified differently and then renault took over

  14. I was lucky enough to see the Mack finished and it is excellent I think I have an Extra turbo for that 335 if you need one, dam things are getting hard to find fast
  15. Also Check the ground connections between the battery and frame also coming off the engine the point where the wire end connector is crimped on to the wire as well a little corrosion between the wire and end connector hard to see but problematic
  16. Glad to see you back on again this is a 65B755 with factory shepherd power steering box you’re steering column looks good for the mod if you need measurements or specs for the sector shaft length I can get that the frame mod is not good but you can fix that I will try to get some more pictures from a B model that was converted to a 711 may help a bit
  17. Watt's has the 40 and 50 gallon square tanks B mod. type and the brass caps
  18. The most common pilot bearing is the 6306 you will find letter codes added to the number mostly for the shield or type of seal should be readily available
  19. Adjustable drag link between the pitman arm and the spindle and tie rod ends first place to look then go to the steering box
  20. Yes and post some random pictures of that absolutely perfect B mod for us fans
  21. Like all older equipment within an inch of the filler neck is considered full always depends on the depth of the top tank
  22. Those tanks are super nice and I could use them for sure but my knee surgery is next week so i will check with you when I can walk again
  23. The radiator cap needs to be replaced every couple of years and that should help with that problem
  24. that is very unusual definitely never seen any pyro in any other place than about 2 or 3 inches after the turbo on any cummins or mack and detroit with the exception for the 864 v8 no turbo 2 pyros at the exhaust manifolds
