  1. Looks like 6Qj417A maybe hard to find possibly used on early R or F models as well
  2. That truck was west coast had budd hubs all around 1965 yes no brakes up front I found studs for the aluminum wheels still available I will try to get a casting number or something for you axle is a FA 5071 should be the same spindle and bearings for 507 west coast is where to look that is the only one I have
  3. Very nice B 61 I have a friend with a B 61 and I think he still has an extra air cleaner I will check with him tomorrow if time permits
  4. No easy answer in the past I have redrilled the frame to relocate the rear mounts but sometimes that is not possible if there are other holes to close I have also fabricated mounts for the bell housing making an offset to move a small distance and then shorten the driveline its getting difficult to find the right combination of parts that you need for engine swaps
  5. A lot of the early B models had a single plate push type clutch later the twin disc push type clutch came out then the twin disc pull type clutch took over different bell housings flywheels and input shaft for the transmission were used as well as all of the clutch linkage and other related parts
  6. This is where the magic happens the rocker arm adjusters have 2 oil reservoirs and pistons that apply the retarding action by opening the valve on the longer profile at the rocker arm not the cam lobe when the small parts inside the rocker arm adjuster get worn that is where the problem starts with dynatard
  7. I was able to get a measurement from the B73 mounts the green one on the transmission side from the bottom they are actually offset about 3/4 of an inch so you could gain that way possibly could not find part number yet
  8. Same thing with the front mount not only in a different location but different bolt pattern maybe a B61 mounts would move it back but you have to measure everything carefully
  9. The transmission mounts look similar but are not the same from a B755 and a B73 also the frame side has a different bolt pattern but not the transmission side also you can see the location as compared to the cab mount on the other side of the frame 11 inches in difference probably similar difference in the B62-B61
  10. I have some out that I can look at maybe tomorrow I did notice the B755 I am working on the location of the frame side of the mount in relationship to the cab mount is a lot different than the B 73 I am removing the transmission from that is in the shop now they are relatively the same they both appear to come off the transmission at a 90 degree angle as opposed to being angled forward or aft I will get some pictures as soon as possible
  11. Mt st Helen’s eruption was may 1980 it was a huge event in Washington state the ash was everywhere before you cut a tree you had to ax cut the bark off first or you’re saw chain was instantly dulled also everyone put pantyhose over the intake on the air cleaner to clean as much of it as possible or it would clog the air filter
  12. Another picture from camp baker at mt st helens one of the few that were found maybe a off road kenworth hard to tell
  13. D-Day

    V8 Theropy

Finally got the 865 to the shop for the B755 project got a lot of work to do before I start a thread on this but I’m working on it
  14. That is my father and me and my older brother wow long time ago
  15. My thought on this was maybe the front end got replaced with a different front end from one of the shorter hood trucks I remember locally here someone had a similar problem replacing the sheet metal up front.
  16. If you look on the B model registry here and go to B model info and then Cab info you can see all of the different things they did to the different models as far as bumper to back of cab dimensions there was a lot of difference in hood length etc.
  17. Dang you all have wheels on the back I can’t use reverse unless I drop the load
  18. I don't have a gas engine like you, just spent a lot of time working as a mechanic for different logging companies and that leads to working on equipment of all kinds I have always had trouble with champion spark plugs I would change them out for autolite or another good brand and an engine would run better and start easier but it's getting harder to find the big old spark plugs in a heat range that works best in your engine the smaller engines seem to like NGK better
  19. Had a similar problem with one truck and couldn’t find any reason for the problem finally found a crack in the secondary fuel filter head it was sucking air through a tiny crack in the aluminum where the filter seals
  20. For the last few years champion plugs have been not so good so I have been using auto lite Ngk and even bosch
  21. I finally got to order these they were shipped promptly and when I got them out of the box, well you can see they are excellent thanks for all the time spent on these mine were missing now just a few more things to find
  22. Long gone unfortunately these are some of my favorites I saw these working when I was little they were awesome Weyerhaeuser had some at camp Baker when mt st Helen’s blew in 1980 I know I posted this picture before but its a good one
  23. Excellent vintage video from the early 60's from washington state and oregon state the large oval shaped tank behind the cab is a water tank for cooling the brakes it takes about 10-15 pounds air pressure to push the water out to cool the drums thanks for finding that and posting
  24. Nothing better than a good pie especially mince meat with venison but it’s hard to eat while driving your favorite machine it gets all over your pants
