  1. Yes just pull the big main pressure line and plug it at each valve and build up air check one at a time also the one for the front brakes
  2. I believe the tractor protection valve would have to be charged before any air pressure could get from one side to the other the brake relay valves for the service brakes are in the system also and are suspect to leak pressure back through the service brake circuit

    Dual tanks

Yes if you look at the front bottom of the fuel tank there should be a shut off valve same on both tanks with a fuel line connecting them
  4. For a quick check I use a small bottle jack on the spring behind the axle to jack against the frame just a little bit and remove the shackle and you can then check the bushings and pins
  5. We always put on fresh gaskets, once the fire ring is crushed and used its compromised, I would think having a squashed spot in it probably would not last long
  6. I found this some time ago but have not had to use their services yet, they say they specialize in reproducing gears of all kinds from reverse engineering and from drawings may be worth a call to see if it is cost effective Circle Gear and Machine, Inc. 1501 so. 55th ct. Cicero, IL 60804-1842 Phone: 231-590-0210 email: circlegear@usa.com

  9. Yes that was at the Cherokee show those 2 are from Franklin I did not take any pictures my phone can not post them for some reason it is a small show but always good to see there are a lot of interesting things that show up there sometimes 2 nice B 61s the red one is Pete Rizzo and the green one is Wayne English AKA Cornpatch
  10. Your tachometer should be mechanical unless its been modified in some way it would be driven by a cable from the front of the engine ahead of the fuel injection pump
  11. Yes there are a few different size inner fender panels I may have an extra pair B73 and B75 are the same I believe, ill measure them if you don't find any closer to you I'm in western North Carolina, the little fender extensions are a different problem they are scarce and I do not have any but there may be some in South Carolina
  12. Cartridge kits used to be available for the old single circuit and early dual circuit foot valve but I have not looked for one in a long time should be able to get the complete valve easy enough
  13. I was told the 2 oil pressure sensors start leaking around the 2 pins and and the oil is pushed directly in to the wire like little pipes they carry it away the seal around the connector keeps it from leaking out at the sensor
  14. A couple of years ago I replaced the engine harness on E 7-460 it was running bad no power and shut itself off sometimes I found oil in the EECU plugs and oil leaking from the harness above the air compressor no obvious leak from the oil pressure sending units but they were pushing the oil through the wire to leak out in other places I was advised to replace both oil pressure sending units and the harness it was just over 1200 dollars but solved the problem
  15. We are using 16.00 x 20 michelins on our yarder transport they definatly get you up off the ground a bit more if clearance is a concern and flotation is good
  16. Yes there is interest in them I see from time to time someone looking for one to complete a restoration
  17. I have a B 755 from 1965 with a 5071 front axle came from the factory with Budd hubs and no front brakes its common for the west coast trucks to not have front brakes then but the hub and spindle are both machined and ready for brakes I have seen others set up the same way might be possible to find a front axle and add brakes not sure if they would be the same as the 16x4 brakes that were on the FA 507 and FA 517
  18. The end of the cable that goes into the collar on the back of the speedo can become slightly rounded off as well as the inside of the collar letting it slip internally if the cable is not connected it can float in the housing losing contact at the transmission end also best to pull the speedo and check the fit we always did this check with a new cable but not having access to another cable with a fresh end you might pull your inner cable up out of the housing a few inches and check the fit that way
  19. More pictures please
  20. Unfortunately they sent me photos by email but the address is blocked I can return email and sometimes you don't hear anything back from them but they do answer the phone thats the problem people here have had with them
  21. The phone number is good they still sell truck parts if your not in a big hurry they operate 2 other businesses from the same location and the salvage yard maybe does not get as much attention as the others I am planning a trip down there possibly in the next few weeks I will update at that time
  22. If your talking about the air drier you can replace the cartridge on the air drier if that does not do it clean the air line that activates the air drier its a small line that can get choked off with oil and muck from moisture
  23. You will also see this heat checking on a flywheel as long as your diameter and depth spec out you should not have any trouble
  24. Those cracks are heat checks that all drums get its normal wear
  25. 1940,s GMC I have a picture of one nearly identical the three side vents on the hood and the grill are the only difference, one day ill figure out how to get pictures posted
