  1. Not a driver just a mechanic and I have never seen anyone replace the shock absorbers on this suspension unless they rot off at the ends from salt corrosion, just a thought

    Originally a tractor they took the 5th wheel off and put a dump box on it then they took the dump box off and put a 5th wheel on it I am just finishing up took the 5th wheel off and put a new dump box on it

    The D6D is out of the shop now the D6C is in and the transmission output shaft bearings are replaced I am looking for a shop manual to set up preload for the shims this is the manual 5speed transmission with a hand clutch maybe early 70’s not the power shift thanks if you can help me with this difficult job
  5. It is hard to find a chrome shop anymore especially one that would deal with pitted metal good luck let us know what you find I am thinking about powder coating some of that kind of stuff

    I disagree completely I am not democrat or republican but the left does not want the U.S. to fail any more than the right would want to see that, factory production left this country for profit CEO's have to make huge profit for the shareholders leaving normal Americans with low wages and disgust at working hard and never making ends meet that drives a lot of the drug problem we have when you can't hire American citizens to work for low paying manual labor jobs what would you expect but for illegal emigrants to move in and take those jobs I Know this well from Logging here in the mountains some Loggers here are hard corps right wing Trump fans but employ several illegal emigrants that makes no sense to me
  7. I have not called him in the last 18 months or so, He was retired and does not operate as a business any longer but he will sell what parts he has left to someone in need I was told to let the phone ring for a while he was hard of hearing

The 351 M and 400 are based on the 351 Cleveland large block and canted valves the 351 windsor is based on the 289 narrow design and smaller heads with straight valves or perpendicular in line valves kind of like the difference between the chevy big bock and small block, windsor being the small block

  11. There should be a tag riveted to the side of the pump that will tell you what pump you have and the pump number

  13. The speedometer is a replacement so your mileage might not be accurate but that doesn't really matter when you have something that nice and everything works and looks good, I would guess around $17,000 would be a good place to start

  15. It is possible I have found gobs of silicone and rust chunks blocking the cooling tubes but that should not affect the coolant temperature overall but would affect the oil temperature more if it was severely blocked it could restrict the overall flow of the cooling system slightly

    Finally out of the shop engine overhaul complete with new crank, new undercarriage tracks and final drive seals it was a lot of work but it’s ready for it’s second life
  19. Pictures will not upload for whatever reason but if you do not find a leaf I have a pair of good springs length 68 inches height 9 1/2 inches that I can part with
  20. I have a pair of fairly new camel back springs there are some different length and thickness variations for the most common and also a part number stamped into the end of the T on the main leaf if you can find it I will get a picture and post tommorow
  21. A spiral fluted reamer and magnetic drill press are the best way to bore the holes out
  22. I have that same cast trunion stand on my B755 and have seen it on a B61 and B615 I believe all were 38,000 trunions with rubber bushings
