  1. Are those Mack bushings, or where did you get them? What is the part number? Thank you!
  2. Looks great! How did you make those?
  3. John Conlee. Great song (Backside of Thirty is slightly better).
  4. That's a terrible thing when your personal rights are violated (box of tissues please). What rights did our soldiers have when they were putting their life on the line to give us the freedom to protest? Sure glad Hill didn't get elected.
  5. Yes. And the flywheel-to-crank nuts had cotter pins in them.
  6. Well, you guys steered me in the right direction...I gave up searching for larger dowels. I found a 21/32" reamer and drill bushing at McMaster Carr and took them to my local machine shop; they made me a guide out of 3/4 bar stock and made a couple of dowel pins that were .002" larger than the reamer. I pulled the old dowels and centered the housing (that was a pain). I bolted the jig up and reamed the holes (lined up perfectly); then I ran some emery cloth on a drill arbor in the flywheel housing holes so it would slide over the dowels without having to beat it on with a hammer. I tapped the dowels into the block and bolted everything together; total runout is now .001" so I am tickled pink. Don't laugh at my dial indicator setup; I had to make it out of "found items" in my shop (yes, the piece that's bolted to the crank is a CB antenna bracket). A very big "Thank you" to all you BMT guys! For some reason my photos are in reverse order...the top one is the finished product.
  7. Hey, that U model has blocks under the left wheel to keep it from falling over!
  8. Talk about selfless...not giving a whit about his own safety, only wanting to take care of others. A truly great American.
  9. Basically if it is an authorized oem part I would consider that NOS. If it was not intended for sale at an oem dealer, then your point about NORS makes a lot of sense.
  10. I get it! Good call!!
  11. Yeah, some people take it a little too far...
  12. Here's a question for the community...I've recently talked to two guys who say that NOS parts can be aftermarket. My understanding has always been that they are OEM parts only. I also read a column on Hemmings that said factory parts (not aftermarket). What is your take on this?
  13. One and the same!
  14. I know what you mean about the 3 hours...thankfully everything went smoothly this year and they got to the big trucks in 2-1/2 hours. I don't know what the situation is with Brockasaurus.
  15. Sounds like some really good folks there.
  16. That is one sharp looking truck, and I love the twin smoke trails!
  17. Thank you! My wife gets the credit; she's a semi-pro photographer.
  18. We went to the Hartford Fair pulls on Sunday night; a very nicely done show. The first R model is Kendra (Rodgers) Dauer; it has a Cat engine and she landed only 10' from 1st place. The second R model is her sister Sondra Rodgers and her truck has a Mack engine. The Superliner has a KT Cummins engine; the next truck, a Chevy, is a very strong puller. The purple Pete has the motor out of Brockasaurus; we were sad the Brockway wasn't there but the Pete won the event. I hope Brockasaurus returns because I really like the truck and it's a crowd favorite.
  19. And I'll bet a lot of heat coming up from the radiator and engine since your feet are almost touching them.
  20. That truck has some very serious rust issues. If you're good at cutting out and welding in new metal, you could handle the job. It's been sitting for many years so it's going to need a lot of mechanical work also.
  21. That really is a sharp-looking rig. You're going to get a lot of thumbs up on that trip!
  22. Pictures will definitely help sell it.
  23. I only had experience with one 903. The company I worked for had one that broke the crank; they sent it to Cummins for major overhaul. A couple of years later it broke that crank too, so they sold the truck.
  24. Actually air bags are very important...they keep a lot of lawyers rolling in the money!!
  25. Definitely get some pictures!
