  1. Just for laughs By pass the Air drier on this unit I have seen the air driers dump the boost off As the compressors are turbo charged in some or most cases! Just a thought!
  2. I have seen these behind a cat I see no reason why not a Cummins! Long as the engine housing is the same size should work fine!
  3. Yup Agree! And on It goes Now were having issues with the Headlights on the Anthems here !Can't keep them operating! Guess we will have a new online coarse to blame the techs for that to ! Having to rob trucks in the yard to keep Trucks on the road! the thing that is selling trucks here now is the fuel mileage . the new units appear to be Boasting some decent Numbers Di-spite the Dollarstore fuel system they have gone with! So I may have to Stand Corrected With my prediction of poor quality on this change up !
  4. Tech That situation you describe is Common! Blame everyone else, Is rampant from the top down A perfect example was the fuel line fiasco of the early 2000's Having everyone do a fuel line installation coarse to pass the blame on to the installer ,who had learn how to install faulty dollar store fuel lines! implemented in an attempt to save money by the manufacturer ! Unfortunately the dealers Are learning from the BEST Buck Passers ever! Ducking Dodging and weaving !
  5. under the passenger side kick panel where your heater motor is! Two modules there Fic module and the Vehicle module
  6. Almost ANY manufacturer prior to 2002 can lay claim to this! Almost All the engines from Detroit, Cummins,Cat , Mack and I hate to say even THE V , All were relatively dependable up to this point in time ! Unfortunately you can"t depend on something thats forced to eat its own shit to be dependable It ain't gona happen Mediocre at best ! The worst is yet to come Government will soon force every working and registered truck to be no older than 10 years old 'You watch!' Its coming!
  7. Yup no wonder we can’t get a fan hub for a g u 714 busy over paying this guy instead of investing money where it’s needed!Great job Volvo!
  8. The other question that needs to be asked Here !! these were offered in a mechanical version as they mutated / transformed into VMAC ! Is it An electronic or Mechanical engine??? Vmac was started in 93! Could be as simple as a bad micro switch! or relay hanging up! Have also seen on the mech version the throttle lever cause grief if its worn! Just some thoughts
  9. Tried getting an fan hub kit for GU last week. None to be had anywhere. We were told Mid Nov! Pretty nice when ya buy something and you can't get shit to fix it! Try with Holding a truck payment and see how it goes!!!!!! The strike probably ain't helping this situation either!
  10. As I mentioned shooting for 24 is best ! top spec is 28 I believe we have run them at the top end as well however never experienced head hop or shuffle.we also use hi tack on both sides of the gasket with no issues!
  11. honestly I don't think it matters however, yes the convex up facing the head ! the sharp side facing the liner that way the ring stays put better! AND just a word to the wise you should have measured your liner height (protrusion )! correct ? You needed to be trying to achieve at least 24 thou Bottom spec for best results on a 400 plus HP engine !the book low spec is TOO low for anything over 400!
  12. I have always installed the fire rings sharp side down as long as the rings are the new style none stepped rings! It’s never failed me yet!
  13. Yup its always someone else fault! MY GOD ! So Do we really need to monitor the auto greaser? REALLY!🙄 Should make the machine De rate to 20 percent till that is fixed for sure !🙄
  14. Does It have a night switch!???
  15. Yup amen to that! Tech ! I have found that if you get solid fuel to at least two injectors you will be able to make it run! We have a guy at my shop refuses to bleed At the head and cranks at the starter for ever, to get them to go Drives me nuts! He claims he read some where Mack did not recommend this method ! I believe it stems back to the fuel line feasco early 2000's when they changed to the dollar store supplier !!! they would also have u change the fuel line every time they are removed! I say OF Coarse! Mack recommends a alot of stupid shit they get to sell more parts that way They can sell starters and fuel lines by the bushel with the bleed at the pump method! So get fuel to as many injector s as possible and it will start fine!
  16. I haven’t seen many reman eup s fail! However I’m not a huge fan of Mack reman parts either poor quality workman ship is rampant. OR low /loose rebuild specs! just me maybe!🤔
  17. Did you test with the die after you replaced the o rings? Your positive the fuel ain’t coming from the transfer pump!?
  18. So I am miss understanding is the new fuel sample clear or not?

Good Job Bro The easy fix check is done Best advice I have now is to get your work done don't use the split till ya got time to deal with removing the shift lid! There are two other semi common things that can happen ,The shift rail engagement knob has come loose on the piston rod you can deal with that when the lid is off! OR you have a broken shift rail , For this The trans has to come out PAI Is the place to by the parts ! And This is not the place to do a farmer patch the shift rail is a big project Trany out and into three pieces on the floor You need a nice warm barn to tackle this project in the winter! 😁
  20. True ! cheaper for them to build the more they can charge for it! 🙄
  21. Our DOT / Police here would likely have not noticed this ! They tend to like to find more important stuff like burned out licence plate lites and and missing dot tape! ! Anyway the idiot that was driving must have a screw loose in his brain not to have felt something was going on it would have had to be pulling and shaking like hell!
  22. I for one am totally amazed at how hard the dam stuff packs in them holes its amazing! Another comment I have is The place where the sensor sits used to be bolted on and easily cleanable Now All one piece Makes me wonder if they have done this to encourage you to have to buy a hole new tube another semi intentional money grab! another non serviceable part to plague us!
  23. Good call Teck I didn't read the tittle Duhhh! I assumed his 15 MR!
