Just got the email a few minutes ago. No more Titans. Wish it was April Fools but sadly not.

That sucks. I'm sure it has something to do with poor sales. Any indication of spec. changes on current models to fill the void?

Declining sales and that more or less the 505 MP8 in existing trucks was enough to get the job done. Can't really blame them , in 9 years years we only sold 3 between all 3 of our stores .

How hard would it have been to offer the MP8 as a option???  Instant price reductiion and weight reduction would of opened up new markets . Yeah James and he's shoving these trucks up our a** that we won't be able to get parts for

Yup, offer the MP8 and offer a further forward front axle option... Lots of truckers still need an axle forward to meet bridge formula requirements or prevent front axle overloading.

I wonder if the volvo vnx is still in production are they stopping d16 production ?

Me too. I was just wondering if volvo was still going to make there heavy haul truck. It's a shame if the Titan is done. It had the potential to sell better if mack/volvo put more effort into it. But hey it's their loss. When it comes time to get some new trucks, Mack won't get our business anymore if they don't offer at least 550 hp.

While Volvo is telling us we don't need more than 505 HP in our Macks... Paccar, Navistar, Daimler, and even Volvo in the VNX are still offering up to 600 HP. 505 HP is fine up to 80k GCW, maybe OK at 105.5k, and marginal at 140k in a Canadian Super B train. Got a 160 k or so Michigan 11 axle "train" or an even heavier South Dakota 17 axle doubles at 170k or heavier permit loads... Forget about Mack, and may as well write off Volvo while we're at it!

There was no info on the Volvo side about discontinuing the D16.  So the MP-10 will likely live on as the D16 in the Volvo side.

Give a year or two, you will understand why D16/MP10 does NOT make sense. When you can generate 600HP & 2100 Lb-ft of torque with 13L - Turbo compound engine and save on weight as well as cost will you want to spend extra money on Titan? How about a pinnacle (CXU/CHU) with same power as Titan at a lot less cost?
