Difference between Mack DM and Mack U models

Recommended Posts

Some say it was for ease in backing into a tight area

Mack Museun says it was to fit the V8 in the short bbc cab

Others say it was a deal with Schwin to sell their line of heavy duty kick stands.. (the last was an over powering feeling of jest)

NO, Ultraliners are cabovers. In one of my U model brouchers it says ULTRALINER across the top with the U model right under it.

Well, could you post a picture of this magical brochure to prove that your're not completely full of it? Or will it's boyfriend get mad at you? (Yes, I just made fun of myself) :loldude:

To sum up what young Vinny said in the beginning, the DM is a heavier duty model with beefy frame, axles, made for "Dumper / Mixer" applications while the U is a lighter duty, lighter weight road tractor usually found "Upside-down" :tease:

Never cease to be amazed by the education one can gain on this website!
