  1. Nice project indeed. It looks good so far and much of the work is done. Good luck and hope it finds a nice home.
  2. Poor little critters...Should a killed them twice for good measure! Love the TNT concept...seems appropriate under the circumstances.
  3. Very ambitious and real neat. My head spins when I start figuring out what a set of tires for that would cost...Interesting project. Thanks for sharing
  4. Trump just because he doesn't care about being PC and says it how he sees it...Even if it's rough and in some cases inappropriate. I'd rather know where we stand and nobody else is going to do that. We need a guy with a set of brass stones that clang when he walks...Just like Reagan and Maggie Thatcher. They both had a big set. God love em. He would straighten up some $hit in a hurry and would call out every slime ball politician by name without batting an eye. That would be 8 real interesting years!
  5. Welcome. Where you from, what do you have or what do you like and what do you do...Dive right in. The water is warm.
  6. Hey don't forget the roads that will tear your truck and your liver in half AFTER you pay the big tolls to drive on them...Wow...The anchor studs for the radiator in my 815 are gone...rotted off I imagine. I know that because when I hit the previously mentioned section of road, the radiator jumped up off of the core support and crashed back down, smashing the bottom cast radiator outlet and draining the entire cooling system in the road...A rather concerned gentleman beeped and waved and told me "oil" was running out of the truck. I checked the mirrors and having no sign of trouble and no where to pull over in the traffic, I pressed on. The casting is brazed back together (Thanks to Dad) and once I get some additional cash to spend I plan to have a radiator shop tune the radiator up...the fins are turning to dust at the bottom center. Doesn't leak but... Anyway...Cash and truck with trailer sounds like a good plan. Best of luck to you. Greg
  7. I just bought 4 9:00-20's for the 49 LS85 from Miller. I couldn't find them anywhere else...
  8. I didn't realize there was a "problem" on a "deal" on it before. Hopefully it works out and this takes the sting out of that last go round.
  9. Oh man....!!! I want one! I can't afford one but that's my problem. Good for you! Buy and get it going and for the love of God take some pictures for us guys. Good luck :notworthy:
  10. Cool stuff. The brand managers and folks who came up with those logos at the time did a great job. Of course Mack making a quality and durable product to go with it played a major role too. Good stuff. Color me green with envy for those! Enjoy.
  11. I picked and placed the 707 and 5 speed in the fire engine as a unit. I did have a loader and operator at my disposal as some poking and prying was needed by me to get it free and then back in place. I don't know the exact weight but it is far less than 5 tons. I would believe that conservatively 5000# is close to the weight. Working with a 3 ton or greater set of gear should get it done in my humble opinion. Someone here may have the actual numbers...what transmission is it? A quadbox will be a bit more hefty.
  12. Isn't that what a Pontiac G8 would have been...Kind of like what that sad attempt at a "GTO" was a few years back with 4 doors...Maybe it will kill Chevy like it did Pontiac...Whatever...YAWN....Do I sound bitter?
  13. The Silver Streak has turned brown but I'd agree it is a early Pontiac. Clearly was "running when parked".
  14. Real nice truck. Love the orange too...if I live long enough I'll have a Mack that color some day...
  15. Wiper stud holes are open to mother nature if my eyes are correct...hence the rusty dash. As for the cummins swap, if the existing is not able to be repaired I'd say yes. If the original is a runner or capable of running...I can only say  My $0.02
  16. No happy about any of it...The hacked up Mack AND Packard...darn shame really...
  17. I believe that is the reason. The X designation isn't enough to drive it as a B-81SX would not have even the big radiator or the big top tank that goes with the '87 or special order engines. My next question is would a "typical quadbox" be capable of handling the 335 or would the trans be special order as well? Still have that B-81 wrecker bwoolbr?
  18. That is what I want to know too, where is the original truck and is it restored or what? I hope someone has it and is doing good things with it. Too cool to let that disappear.
  19. The silver bridge piece is interesting. That is why (I believe) we build in redundancy for structures like that. It's so no single point of failure causes the entire structure to collapse...The resultant load is managed by the remaining members in the truss...Good stuff. I'm too young to remember that (was about 6 months old at the time) but I've seen some of the old studies on that and other bridge collapses. Interesting stuff. Greg
  20. That 4 door has a ENF-707A by the look of it...has a compressor on it too if I'm seeing it right...Sweet! Don't see those at every show. Those are some nice pictures. Thanks for taking the time to share them. Are they being restored by your friend for himself or for customers? Unique stuff there...really cool. Greg
  21. I love how they are "SEARCHING" for a motive! Realy? What planet are they from if they are searching. That is a PC joke! If you don't know what is going here and why, you're not paying attention. I think Trump would do a bang up job! We'd know where he stands in no uncertain terms...not a bad thing. We don't have the stones to elect a man though.
  22. I have an aversion to folks who lack humility myself. It's not any way to be.
  23. How about if all of us are your guests??? We can rent a buss...would that be rude?
