  1. I went to the nearby Flying J to weigh my pickup and trailer in preparation of hauling some lumber for an Amish friend tomorrow and received Mike's card. A real good looking truck.
  2. I didn't think we would be able to make Macktoberfest this year since we planned on being at a bus rally in Amish Country in Ohio. The rally is over with on Friday so travel time would be "a long way to go and a short time to get there". While the schedule came out and the rally ends after breakfast on Friday and Thursday is a visit to the Football Hall Of Fame. Let's see, football or Mack Trucks? I can visit the Hall of Fame any time so we are leaving Thursday morning for Macktoberfest. Hope to see everyone there.
  3. Vlad, thanks for giving us a documentary of your adventures. The photos were great.
  4. Glad you are back and she is feeling better.
  5. Looks like Oldmacks.com, Dennis Meehan company.
  6. Marcel, I understand your situation. I sold my 2000 Vision and trailer because it became a very expensive hobby. When I was working it on a limited pastime basis it paid for itself and I could justify it but insurance went up to 6,000 (switched to Great Western and reduced to 5,200). That was in January and another,1,500 for plates end of May. Have my own authority and was working for a major carrier under their regional operation so I was able to pick my loads when I wanted to and where. That plan was eliminated and they wanted me to work 7 to 10 days in a row at their forced dispatch. Since I sold my business, funeral home, burial vault company and cemetery monument company, I was retired and was doing this as a hobby. Most people retire and take up costly hobbies, golf, drinking , women, etc. but I took up trucking and was able to make some money from it. Anyway, their new plan did not agree with me and I couldn't find another one like I had so had to make a business decision - sell the truck and trailer. It became too costly to sit and look at it, it had to go.
  7. Thanks for the show and tell on the museum. I was there shortly after it opened and it looks like more has been added. The air force museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH and also the Army helicopter museum at Ft Rucker Alabama are also very educational.
  8. Happy belated birthday and happy early birthday for next year.

  14. Ruth Ann and I will not be able to make Macungie this year. We had campground reservations and were looking forward to seeing everyone. Her mom, who is 93, had her caregiver quit without any notice so Ruth Ann is busy filling in and finding a replacement. Hope to be at Roger Gerharts this fall
  15. Congratulations to both of you!
  16. Just saw on the news not to use internet explorer due to hackers. From time to time browsers come up for discussion on BMT and some are using IE. FYI
  17. Congratulations Randy. Glad everyone is doing well.
  18. Medicare is not free. When working we pay 1 percent into Medicare and when collecting social security Medicare is deducted from SS
  19. Great replacement for a great looking truck.
  20. Mike, what are you getting to replace it?

    NY HUT?

Ray, yes NY charges in addition to IFTA. It is a quarterly return that can be done on their website. You give them your miles traveled in NY and they tell you how much to pay. If investigated, they will not take mileage from a GPS; must have mileage documented such as log book showing odometer reading of mileage out less mileage in equals miles driven in NY. Their website gives all the Communistic rules and regulations.

    Hello!

Hi Mike, good to hear from you. Hope all is well with you and your family.
  23. So sorry to hear about your loss.
  24. Several years ago I wanted an electric pressure washer for cleaning basement walls on a rental house I was redoing. I have gas one but didn't want fumes inside. Check Northern and there's was around $700; checked Grainger and the same spec pressure washer was $1,300. Told the Grainger person I was going to Northern to save $600. Their comment was "let us check that out and we will get back to you." I ended up getting it from Grainger at Northerns price had it the same day and did not have shipping. Grainger does play price games and price is based on amount of business you do with. More volume the lower the price.
