  1. Amateur night. Hadn't heard that in a while. My dad always referred to new year's eve as amateur night. Thanks for the reminder and Happy New Year to everyone.
  2. Mack has a Jake accessory oil line kit that runs from the oil filter housing to the Jake heads. I had this added to my E7 460 and it helped some. The next time I changed oil I put 2 gallons of Lucas in and saw a tremendous increase in braking power. On a section of I80 in PA I had to apply brakes going downhill, after the Lucas I had to add throttle to reach the bottom.
  3. Thanks for asking Mike. I forgot about the give away but checked after you asked about it. I won a Cobra CB radio. Thanks Watts Mack!!
  4. Being a funeral home owner, now retired, I have spent many Christmases working. Felt fortunate that I was on my side of the desk and not the other side. My thanks and appreciation goes out to everyone that has to work on holidays.
  5. Skylights? When I built my building 32 X 60 X 16 high I did not put them in. Wish I had. On my to do list
  6. Congratulations to you Mike and your family. Grands are great.
  7. Just read that Ohio has legislation pending that would stop towing companies from ripping people off. One requirement would be a quote prior to hooking up to the vehicle to avoid a big surprise after the tow.
  8. Bottom row left is engine shutdown override switch.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. It's the time to be thankful for all we have been blessed with.
  10. I can't understand why anyone traveling does not have a CB. It has saved me many times. Yesterday I80 was closed in central Pennsylvania in both directions for several miles due to ice. It was 28 degrees and started to rain. The roadway became a sheet of ice; 20 mile backup eastbound from mile marker 141 to 161 where road was closed from 161 to 178. I was going west, closed from 178 to 161 rerouted on back roads getting on at 161 to be closed again at 147 Snowshoe. I was able to keep track of everything going on via the CB. I stopped at a TA for 2 hours until westbound was cleared. I got firsthand reports, some not 100 percent correct, but more up to date than the Pennsylvania radio AM 1640 road condition reports. Bottom line, I was on the road going home while those going east were stuck for hours. Had they had a CB they could have stopped at a rest area, got off of the road, taken an alternate road, etc. Instead they chose to sit in a 20 mile parking lot. CB...won't leave home without it.
  11. Keep in mind I spent my whole working career in the funeral industry as a funeral director, working for casket companies and owning my own funeral home. "Torso Stuffer" as a funeral director "Box Man" Salesman selling caskets. "Undertaker" funeral home owner and current CB handle.
  12. Tom, if you have to go to NE Ohio/NW PA, Youngstown, Sharon, you will be ok. Cold but only couple of inches of snow left over from yesterday. If you go 20 miles north get your chains and snowshoes out that's where the heavy snow is. Safe travels to all.
  13. Mark, sorry about your loss. Glad everything is well with you and your family. Not many would do what you did; you are to be commented for making the sacrifice you did.
  14. The Amish still use the threshing machine. An Amish friend of mine is one of only a handful of people that rebuild these antique machines. This one went from northeast Ohio to an Amish farmer in Southwest Ohio and I hauled one back for Mose to rebuild.
  15. Hi Mike, Congratulation on the new job. Sounds like your days of stopping at Truck World are numbered. Best of luck to you. God bless.
  16. Threshing machine and grain binder (already unloaded) I hauled for Amish last week
  17. I just arrived at the mack museum and customer center. I've parked the bus in the rear parking lot with the track 50 feet from me. Look forward to seeing in everyone. I can be reached at 330 550 6020
  18. There is a supplemental oil line that can be added to get more oil to the Jake. It comes off of one of the oil filter housings and goes to the Jake heads. I had this done to my E7 460 and it helped a little. I also added 2 gallons of Lucas on next oil change and it improved oil pressure by 10 lbs. and greatly increased performance of the Jake. Prior to Lucas, I would have to apply some brake going down Snowshoe on I80. After Lucas, Jake would hold my speed or I would even have to add throttle to reach the bottom, pending weight of load.
