  1. Macungie becomes slicker than snot on a door knob after a good rain. Joe D.
  2. In Penna. I was told you cannot put Antique Plates on a trailer no matter the year. I do pull a trailer with my Antique plated truck with antique trucks on it. So far no problems. I crossed a scale in Virginia and was told to pull around back when I told Weighmaster I had Antique Plates he said go on my way. Joe D.
  3. Gregg I plan on taking my Brockway plow truck to Macungie. i have a friend who needed tube type 22" bias tires. I will replace them wit 11;24.5 radials. Joe D.
  4. Thanks for the replies. If wheel is not centered it hits fender when trying to take it off hub. I always thought Mack had about the best engineering until this. Mack must have hired a Paccar Engineer for measuring B-67 wheel openings. Joe D.
  5. I took the front tires off of my B-67 with 22" rubber. It has been awhile since I changed them ,if the tires are not centered you cannot get them off the spoke they hit the fender. I do not know if wheel opening is smaller on B-67's with the short nose compared to B-61's. Anyone know ? Thanks Joe D.
  6. Jim I bought a 1986 Isuzu Pup pickup Diesel new in 1986. Non turbo 5 speed it was a good pickup not a lot of power but great mileage. Joe D.
  7. Brocky they do not make floats in 24.5 (22") tires. Only 20". Joe D.
  8. They did not use Gold bulldogs when the A-Model was biult only chrome ones. Gold dogs came out in 1965 I think with the Maxidyne,Maxitorque power train. Good luck with your A-Model. Paulkunz your A-20 looks great good luck. Joe D.
  9. Chris B they sell long cleats that you can use to single out spoke wheels. We used to do it on lift axles for tri-axle dumps. Joe D.
  10. What 220 Cummins and Jim Hancock said is correct. I would go with the 12;24.5 tires as 12:00 24 tube type are very expensive, hard to find, heavy to work with and I do not think they will take the heat as well as the 12:24.5 tubeless. I ran them for years on a heavy tandem dump in New Jersey Landfills. They are great for heavy work around towns and off road but not sustained highway speeds. Is your truck dayton or Budd-hub-piloted wheels. If Budd or hub-piloted just get new rims 9" or larger depending on what tire you want to run. Joe D.
  11. Very nice unit. What is the Mack Twin Y suspension ? Thanks Joe D.
  12. Quickfarms nice picture of your Ford in Work Clothes.Being driven of a LCU maybe from Assault Craft Unit 1 "United We Land" was their motto when I was stationed at Coronado Amphibious Base in California. Thanks Joe D.
  13. I was hauling hot rocks today on Route 118 near Sweet Valley,Pa. where these trucks were located. I talked to owner as he has a heavy equipment repair garage I know him a little from buying Detroit Diesel parts from him.The B-30 went to New York near Binghamton and is gone. The B-61 is still there but it did sell and new owner is picking it up soon. It was not a shill bid as they sometimes are on Ebay. Joe D.
  14. 68-f-model I guess you are lucky. It looks like no air to trailer for brakes.I hope you had lights. What kind of 5th wheel hitch is on truck? Thanks Joe D.
  15. On the Just Old Trucks Forum have some people that know Detropits. JunkmanDan on that forum is very knowledgeable on 2 strokes. Bullhusk on this forum is up on them also. Good luck with your purchase. Joe D.
  16. That green 1950 Acar was for sale by me in Northeastern,Pa. about 2 years ago. It was reasonable in price. It came from a concrete and blacktop plant in Scranton,Pa. H.B. Sproul who is now out of business. They were around forever as I remember. I went to look at it and did not call back until it was gone.I talked to new owner he plans on putting cab on a late model chassis,I think he said to pull travel trailer.Joe D.
  17. Brocky I am leaving about 6:00 AM Wednesday morning. i will see you there. Thanks Joe D.
  18. Nice ride Macks.I used to ride 38 years until I got t-boned by a lady that ran a stop sign coming off the Interstate I ended up with a broken neck and leg along with road rash. Helmet saved me,I am a believer in helmets. I rode a few times after that but it was not the same. I wish it was. I still enjoy Daytona bike Week every few years. Joe D.
  19. I looked up the origins of Quality Carriers Tampa ,Florida and started with Chemical Leaman. There is a Quality Carriers from Bristol, Wisconsin that could have been associated with Matlacl I did not go that far in checking it out. Either way two large tank lines in their original format are no more along with the good paying jobs. Joe D.
  20. Sorry to hear about the bad luck Gregg. I hope you get to at least a ride around York Show. Joe D.
  21. I am not sure about Matlack"Pipeline on Wheels" demise. But about another fallen Mack Tank Fleet Chemical Leaman is now Quality Carriers from Tampa,Florida. We had a truck leased onto Quality for about 15 years. Thanks Joe D.
  22. Good luck with your new truck. In my opinion I think the beauty of any old truck is in the original power and drivetrain. I can drive a newer drivetrain in a truck about anytime. Going out on the road with a 673 with a du-plex or 6-71 Detroit with a Roadranger is part of the fun of owning one to me. This is just my opinion I still think "Spoke Wheels Rule" so take it from there. Where are you in Penna. I am in Lake Ariel,Pa. Thanks Joe D.
  23. Could someone tell me when the next Spaamfa Meet is being held and what location ? My son in law likes firetrucks and i told him I would ask about it. Thanks Joe D.
  24. Nice truck with good specs.A lot of freight outfits in the Northeast ran them like that Oneida,Fowler+Williams and others 673-711 with a tri-plex. Joe D.
  25. The windshields look like Donald Ducks eyes I was always told. About one of my favorite trucks. Joe D.
